Josephus, a Jewish historian, mentioned Jesus in his writings toward the end of the first century C.E., roughly 60 years after Jesus' death.
As a non-Christian, Josephus would have no reason to accept the historical reality of Jesus unless there was some sound basis for it.
In one of his works, Josephus discusses disturbances that were caused by the Jews during the time Pontius Pilate was governor of the region of Judea (26-36 C.E,) The disturbance centered around a man named Jesuss and his followers, Josephus identifies Jesus as "a wise man....a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of men who received the truth with pleasure," and he notes that Jesus was later condemned by Pilate to crucifixion. While this mention of Jesu does not suggest that Josephus himself accepted Jesus or the claim made about Jesus by his followers, it does seem clear that Josephus recognized Jesus to be a historical person who had a profound impact on the people he encountered.
Read also about Tacitus, a Roman historian.....Pliny the Younger another Roman source and Suetonius a Roman historian and lawyer.
All these writers prove the historical existence of Jesus......rather than biblical sources.

Yes... I agree with that... I think it is because Christianity is widely spread all over the world. Jesus is history. Even those who don't believe in him would notice you within an earshot when you say his name.. it is because he is popular!Everyone knows him...
Notice yourself when you are in the classroom and your teacher is having a roll call, even if you don't listen, when your teacher calls your name, you answer "present!" It is because your name had been long before known to you. You've been memorizing your name since you were a child that even if you don't listen, you would hear people say your name when they say it. Same with Jesus, he has been long been taught to people even with those non-believers. He has been controversial. And controversial people, places, things and events could attract people in just a snap. Notice your question? It has been answered by many people in just a short time... It is because it is controversial...
Other people don't believe in him, others do... And the reason why some religions debate is because of Jesus... Whether he is God or a prophet of God...
Right???
Hope you agree... =)

To take your question even further the next time you hit your thumb with a hammer (or other painful activity) true bursting out with Oh Buddha or Mohammad! (or any other name of choice). You will find that the only names that have power Jesus Christ and God, That is because when it comes to the commandment of not taking the name of the Lord in Vain, that only applies to the Judeo Christian God and God the Son Jesus Christ.

No. But then, I have lived in other parts of the world, other than (huge assumption on my part) America.
And it would be fervour?
And I expect a room full of people would pay me heed, regardless of what I said, if I said it with sufficeint force, and volume.
In short, I disagree with you. But I do thank you for the opportunity to read your opinion, and reply.
Yours, in the spirit of friendship, and learning.

Only I would suggest in a country where Christianity is widely practiced and because people will assume that you are either
(a) swearing, or
(b) some kind of evangelist.
I'd venture to suggest that you'd not get much of a reaction if you said "Jesus Christ" in a room in Japan or China.

In Spanish, as you may know, the name Jesus is used as a first name almost as Maria for women and it does NOT elicit any more "interest" as any other name. "Jesus Christ" in English may connote either a surprise or even a pejorative of sorts, hence the attention by some people, certainly not me.

In many spanish speaking countries it's a common name just like any other.
In most of asia it is unknown.
In many english speking country your suggestion will attract attention because it would be considered swearing.
But you have faith so you can believe whatever you like.
