in the Bible it shows in the footnotes all the differences from one manuscript to another. the Catholics have more books in there Bible, the protestants have less. i have noticed that Christianity is almost identicle to paganism.

the Koran has scientific proof in it such as the world is round, embryology, geology, cosmotology. in the Koran it is written that the sun rotates. there is so much proof in the Koran that scientists are embracing Islam. there is no way that Muhammed knew those things.

there is even prophecy about Muhammed in the Bible. this verse describes Muhammed when he toke over Medina with 10 thousand of his followers and gave the people the law.

Deu 33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand [went] a fiery law for them.

who else could this prophecy be refering to?

Christians what is your advice?

It was all very well documented in some movie by Martin Scorcese based on a non-fiction book in so much as the the Bible is non-fiction.

A couple Sundays ago, I arrived at Church just as the minister was speaking, the only empty seat was the front row. After service, Pastor came up to my family and apologized for there not being enough seats. I quickly piped up, "Yes, some people always have to have the back of the Church, the front of the bus and the center of attention." He asked me to repeat it, I'm sure I will find it in the bulletin some time soon. I love my Pastor.

no im not an athiest. but i have not made up my mind about anything so far. why are people religious?

1. do they fear life itself would be pointless since we are all going to die within say 100 years or so.
2. have they been brainwashed to believe that there is a HELL, and they dont want to go to hell.
3. or is it just a hope, every one here answer truthfully have you ever seen an angel, or a demon. has god every really talked to you.
so why do you keep believing.

i mean the univererse is so incredibley large. 1 human being (no matter who he/she is) is so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. what seperates us from the animals. we are the dominant species on the planet.but that is cause we are smarter than the rest. So why are we going to heaven/hell and a dog is not. because we have a soul.
the biggest question in the entire universe would have to be what happens when you die. the muslims that crashed into the towers on 9-11 thought they were right. religion?

In trying to determine self-will from Gods will in prayer (say, when trying to determine a plan of action) Einstein said that the answers that come from God would be easy.

However - lately for me, the only "easy" path leads to doing nothing. I have been paralyzed by indecision and just plain not knowing what to do - - and my life has been stuck in a rut for sometime. How then, does one determine the "easy" path? Any suggestions?

For every answer we type here, we need to SUBMIT to Yahoo!
Shouldn't our personal deities be upset with this?
Is this submission an indication that we have denied our true faiths?
Or is it an acknowledgement that we are true believers in Yahoo! ?

I often hear xtians say that the bad and evil are cause by lack of God in peoples lives and question how those who don't believe in God can have morals and ethics (this is asked at least once a day on YA!)...so I'd like to turn it around and find out exactly why someone would think belief in a God is a necessary component for living good, moral, ethical, decent, lawful lives????

Sorry if this is asked a million times, it didn't show up in search, but I only see it asked rhetorically in answers the the xtian questions, not as an answerable question.

My friend goes to a Christian College. They have a ban on inter-racial dating there for some reason. Does The Bible support this bologna?

Science is based on what can be observed, tested and explained.
Religion is based on faith, and in some cases, revealed scripture.

If there is a difference between what is observed, and what is revealed, is it better to argue which is right, or to try to explain the difference?

If we try to explain the difference, is it better to do so from a stance of proving one position right, or being open to new understanding?

What criterion do we use for determining truth?

Thoughts?

I am a borderline religious person.
I don't really know what religion is right for me, but I know that there is one out there, I know that I am not an athiest, though there is nothing wrong with atheists everyone has their own beliefs, I just don't know what I am yet.
I have recently stumbled on Messiahic Judaism, and I don't believing in coincidences, so I was wondering if people could give me some feed back on this branch of Judaism.
Maybe give me some sights on the subject.

Thank You immensly, I know that that was a lot of jibbered nonsense above, but thanks in advance.

It is believed that God created Adam & Eve and gave them free will.

But don't Animals have free will as well? They are able to think and make decisions as well. They also do as they please.

Hello, I have seen many sources associating east with air, south with fire, west with water, and north with earth, but lately I read a rather convincing argument for switching earth and air. Also, looking at elemental associations by Aristotle and the ancient Greeks ( http://occult-advances.org/elements.shtml ) suggests a completely different setup of water in the north, air in the east, fire to the south, and earth to the west. From my understanding the traditional european craft correspondences stem from geographic location, but the Aristotlean model seems more based on general logic. My question is, what correspondences do you use, and why?
Please, save all sarcastic answers and cut-and-paste bible verses.

Personally, I was a theist as a child, but as I grew up and and my thinking matured, theism didn't provide satisfactory explanations for why things happened anymore. I accepted that I didn't know and couldn't know the answers to existential question, and so became agnostic.

if we state that the universe is infinite, then there is an infinite time. and if there is an infinite time, there is a 100 % probability for everything to happen in this universe.

for instance, what is the probability of getting a pair of 2 if you roll a pair of dice in a sertain period of time lets say a roll per second? 1 of 36 per second is correct. NOW what is the probability of getting a pair of 2 if i keep rolling the dice for an infinite time? the chanse is 100 % i will get a pair of 2... right?

this is just a hypotesis so please dont get ofended. now i ask what is the probability of getting a human being if we combine the right chemical elements and we wait one second to get the results? the answer is ovious 0 % but now i ask what is the probability that a human or any living think might be formed if the time reaches infinty? the answer is 100% probable.

i believe more in probability that in God, for einstein once said God does not play dice with the universe. LOL
