In trying to determine self-will from Gods will in prayer (say, when trying to determine a plan of action) Einstein said that the answers that come from God would be easy.

However - lately for me, the only "easy" path leads to doing nothing. I have been paralyzed by indecision and just plain not knowing what to do - - and my life has been stuck in a rut for sometime. How then, does one determine the "easy" path? Any suggestions?

i think it would be easy from the spiritual point of view. if you are a devout worshipper of God then any answer from God is easy, and the only answer. And God's answer is the answer with good in it. You could try turn to the Qur'an, Islam has answers for every single walk of life.
hope that helps.

It could be what you call a rut is part of God's plan for you. If you have done all those things like praying etc. and received no direction then there s always the possibilty you are doing what God put you here to do. Just because a path seems mundane does not mean it has no merit. Maybe there is something yuou need to complete b4 u move on.

I have set out a fleece on occasion but that was to confirm a direction I had already been given was from God and not me.

Have you asked a prayer warrior to pray for you, sometimes something in us blocks an answer.

Also He can speak through your dreams but that can be tricky and much prayer b4 going to sleep

Determining God's will from self-will is one of our most difficult endeavors. While "answers from God" may have come easy for Einstein, they certainly don't come easy for all of us.

As you have stated, the "easy" path comes from doing nothing. Often called, "the path of least resistence". This is the path we must all avoid as it leads no where. As bluebootz stated, "doing something is better than doing nothing." The key is deciding that you want something to change and taking action to effect that change. The first course of action may not be the right one, but once you have made the decision to make that change, the universe will come together and aid you in accomplishing your goal (eventually). The key is to never lose sight of your goal, and never give up. Your effort will be rewarded.

Einsteins perceptions and words tower over the understanding of the common man . If you come close to instant understanding out of context without experience you are gifted . He may have used the easy path as a way of saying not the true path or something else rather poetic or waxing to some . Einstein invented his own version of god as a way of saying things from his own point of view think long and hard he was not always obvious .
I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation and is but a reflection of human frailty.
Albert Einstein
this is his version that god is manmade
peace out

Einstein himself said "There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
Find the joy of life in living as though everything is a miracle, because it is. Appreciate everything you have - look for the gifts you have.
Live with discipline - and always treat and serve others as better than yourself. It gets you mind off of you and makes you very happy to give to others.
Pray, and trust - there is no "easy" path - we would never grow or learn nearly as much without difficulty, faith and trust in God.

Perhaps your will is God's will.

I believe that a path can take a zig zag course and a Higher Power has no preference of how a person gets to where they need to go.....just so long as they eventually get there.

Just do something...anything is better than nothing. Eventually you will be where you want to be. (which is where God intends for you to be.)

I think it would be defined better as the obvious thing to do. Very rarely will I have to think twice about GOD's will. It is usually the answer to the question. "What is the right thing to do?" When you ask that question you are hooked up to your knowledge of right and wrong (see Genesis 3) In the same place lives the Holy Spirit who will guide you in all things. Hope that helps.
GOD bless you.

Well the path to getting the answers could be tough, but the answers themselves could be easy. Finding God within yourself may be the challenge, but once you've found him, the answers will be there.

Just pray to God tell him how your feeling and tell him you know you can count on him and tell him you believe in him and fear him and know he is a great, fearful, mercful and powerful and almighty God and tell him you have the upmost respect for him and share your life with God let God into your life, talk to God even though you cant hear him it doesnt mean he doesnt care he is looking down at all of us and looking after each and everyone one of us right now.

It isn't easy to follow Jesus. It is, however, the only eternally fulfilling path. And only He can help you accomplish this, which He will if you ask.

Nothing worthwhile is "easy". The bible has this verse, "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness...and all things will be added to you". If you devote yourself to Jesus and make the study and implementation of His word foremost, you'll be out of that rut and on your way to a lifetime adventure.
