Don't tell me because all theories should be taught because this hardly constitutes a theory. I am not sure if this would even qualify as a hypothesis. It is just asinine to compare the ToE (which has been thoroughly studied and proven over the last 150 years) to a religious idea that has no evidence backing it except the text of a religion. This would be comparable to moving Greek mythology in with science. Modern theism is just a more widely practiced mythology. It has no business being taught anywhere accept at a place of religion. Disagree? Give me a VALID reason why.

Psalm 10

2 The wicked arrogantly hunt down the poor.
Let them be caught in the evil they plan for others.
3 For they brag about their evil desires;
they praise the greedy and curse the Lord.

4 The wicked are too proud to seek God.
They seem to think that God is dead.
5 Yet they succeed in everything they do.
They do not see your punishment awaiting them.
They sneer at all their enemies.
6 They think, “Nothing bad will ever happen to us!
We will be free of trouble forever!”

7 Their mouths are full of cursing, lies, and threats.[a]
Trouble and evil are on the tips of their tongues.
8 They lurk in ambush in the villages,
waiting to murder innocent people.
They are always searching for helpless victims.
9 Like lions crouched in hiding,
they wait to pounce on the helpless.
Like hunters they capture the helpless

a. 1. Psalm 10:7 Greek version reads cursing and bitterness. Compare Rom 3:14.

I am trying to understand exactly what Sutras are. I know they are somewhat the equivelant of the Bible for Buddhist followers. Correct?

Exactly how are you suppose to follow them?

Can some explain them to me in relation to the Bible..... are they just written text of the practice of Buddhism?

She told them on the Montel Williams show four months after he disappeared that he was dead. This woman is a swindler of the worst kind. I fail to understand how she can lie to people constantly and go unpunished. I would say that the people that ask her these things are idiots, but I would be wrong. They are people grasping at any shred of hope.

that mary was infact "impregnated" by god and not the angel who appeared to her?

the bible calls the offspring of man and angel evil. the pharisees knowing this would obviously take it upon themselves to rid the world of these "evils".

so why then, could mary not have been impregnated by the angel instead, giving birth to jesus who was a "hero of old" and a "man of renown" which is exactly as the bible describes the offspring of man and angel.

the only thing you have to go by is the mary's word. mary said it was god. could she have been doing this to protect her child from the pharisees?

if not how else can you prove it? dont say "the bible says mary was..." because thats what mary claimed. i dont want her claim. one persons claim would not hold up so well in court.

It would take a lot of faith to believe that the world was not created by God.

think about it, in heaven there is no sadness, no sin. therefore no free will.

in the bible it says we will spend all eternity praising god.

we will be praising the very same god who sent our loved ones and family to hell to be tortured for eternity. the very same god who was portrayed as murderous in the bible. and we will be forced to be happy when we do it.

so in all honesty, how does that sound like a place you'd want to go?

-1-As for Aisha being 9 years old? There is much debate as to the validity of the hadith b/c they were historic and thus not held the the same standard for accuracy as ones on religion; the age may have even been exaggerated by the society to make "her all the more virgin." There are many stances on this point; please see the wikipedia article to get an understanding of the different Points of View. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aisha%27s_age_at_marriage

-2-In this world today, Muslims are the most backward, uneducated, and violent people at times. There has been a terrible chain of events that helped cause this; the fault being Muslims' and on Imperialists etc. The leaders of the Muslims are often the worst among them, and reflect this sad sad time. The mullahs twist faith to try to get themselves political power, and unfortunately, many fall into their traps. Terrible atrocities have been committed in the name of religion; but if they didn't have religion...they would probably use some other excuse however weak to kill. Pan-Islamic sentiments just worked conveniently for them to twist given the circumstances. If in a different era, perhaps they would have used nationalism, ethic pride or who knows what else. I can understand with the current situation why certain verses in the Quran out of context may seem to explain the violence, but that is what the extremists want. If we believe their twisted words, we fall into their trap and turn an otherwise beautiful faith into a monstrous death cult. So is what they are practicing a monstrous death cult? Perhaps; but is that Islam as it was revealed? No.

I was flipping through the channels and saw this infomercial for some company called cbn.com. They have this investment plan where you give them a percent of your income and you get a lot more than that back shortly afterward. They had several stories about people who used this plan (they called it tithing) and it worked great for them. They got back way more money than they gave this CBN company.

This looked like a good plan to me. A lot easier than working for my money or spending hours choosing mutual funds or stocks or starting a company where I might not make a profit.

My question is if I invest in their tithing scheme and don't make a big profit in a hurry, can I sue them for breach of contract?

What lies beyond the veil of death and does it differ much from the states of souls in life? Given that travel through this veil is only one way, people really can't know much about the other side until they arrive there, but it is reasonable to expect that the same laws which govern souls in life also govern them in the afterlife.

The most natural conclusion is that a hellish life will bring a hellish afterlife, and a heavenly life brings a heavenly afterlife. Yet a lot of people seem to think that heaven in the afterlife is attained by misery, deprivation, and sorrows in this life. They see life as a hellish state and create such a life for themselves in expectation heavenly rewards. So how can a person who desires hell in this life be expected to embrace heaven in the afterlife?

And why should they expect their natures and values to change while passing through the veil of death so that happiness and peace replaces a lifetime of pessimism, guilt, and stress?

You cannot say all were sinful, because children are not sinful. Yet God used collective punishment many times. Even in the last chaper of the Old Testemant, God considers smiting the earth with a curse.

Presumably God never changes, so what do we have to look forward to?

Clearly, I'm proof that God doesn't exist because I'm so thick headed that I can't even get my head around those clear, logical arguments of the creationists on this site. What sort of God would create a human so stupid as to not believe in Noah's Ark as a factual historical document? Why did God send me to blight you with such ignorance?
