If you study what you have just said you would know that you have made false statement. The Catholic Church is not covering up anymore they removing the Priests from the Church and letting the courts deal with them
There are 405,067 priests in the world and less than 2% have been accused. Look into other Churches you will find a higher percentage rate than the Catholic Church

They aren't masquerading...they ARE priests. Since marriage and sex were prohibited for the clergy, they had to come up with something for them to do to release their urges. If the predators were expose, the flock might realize who their religious leaders are, and this would reflect badly on Rome and God himself. And since both are incapable of error, the only option is to hide and assist the pedophiles instead of taking the moral highground and prosecuting the offenders. The entire faith is full of little suprises.

But the pope does. :)
By the way, I'm a Christian.
Men can corrupt religion, but God is unchangeable. Those preists are not fooling God. They're misguided.

That is a very good question and I really would like to know! It bothers me that instead of stripping the "priest's" title and such they just move them to a new church. Smooth people.

The question should be... why does the catholic church impose selebacy on these ministers? One big reason on why these men became perverts is because they had no easier way to release their sexual tendencies. It's the church's fault that they became that way!

think about it out of how many "holy men" how many have been exposed for pedophiles. second those with the most problems often try to get the closest to those that they think can help them.

In America, clergy and celebrities get special treatment... like "innocent until proven guilty", rather than the other way around for nearly everyone else (especially minorities).

For many reasons, including money, trying to save reputations. But, to have a true relationship with God, one must be a follower of Jesus, and be born again. It is Jesus we worship, not mary. WE will respect her as Jesus' mom. But, thats Gods doing. Jesus came to save the world and it was HE that died upon the cross. To be born again one must know that, and give their heart and life to Jesus, and following oNLY the teachings of Jesus, not all the stuff many other religions teach. If we are worshipping Mary, instead of Jesus, we arent born again, and that will lead us into other areas of deceit, and this is only one. God will deal with all of this on judgement day. Just be praying and living for Jesus yourself.
