It says that if you knew that there would be a thief coming that night, you would be able to be prepared, but no one will know when Jesus is coming, so make sure you are prepared for it at all times.

Notice the contrast drawn at 1 Thessalonians 5:1-8. This scripture speaks of the Day coming as a thief as well. But it will come as a thief only upon those who, according to their own desire, remain in darkness. The sign is for those followers of Christ who are doing their best to remain alert and awake. The sign helps them to do that even more. It is only those who refuse to listen with a view to salvation that will be caught unawares. Even the apostle Peter, at 2 Peter 3:3-7, describes those who insist, during the last days, that nothing is going to happen. That nothing has changed and nothing will change. In verse 5, Peter says it is according to THEIR WISH that certain facts escape their notice.
It is similar to those who live under the shadow of a volcano. Despite warnings, tremblings, ash, and everything else, they stay right where they are. And then when the volcano erupts, they are taken aback! They are shocked! They are surprised.
That is how it will be on the great day of God Almighty. Those who are prepared will not be taken by surprise. Those who will ultimately suffer destruction will be surprised.

Because he loves us that much. He gives us signs so that we can detect the signs above to acknowledge when our time is coming. Thieves are people that come without the awareness of another person. So Christ was just given an example of his coming and he described it like a theif in the night. Not literally. I suggest that when you read the bible that you sit and meditate on the scripture or verse that you have read.
God Bless you my brother

God has set up signs for Christs return, the bible tells us, that have all been fulfilled. Christs return will come like a thief. A brilliant light will flash from the east to the west and Christ will return to take all believers up to be with Him. I can't wait!!!

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
There are signs all aournd us every day. Why arent you paying attention to them? A true thief in the night can clean out your house without every waking you. That is what Jesus will return like. You can either live with your spritual house being unkept or you can have your spritiual house prepared and ready. The choice is yours.
Mark 13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
This means.. spritually sleeping. living life lost without Jesus as your personal Savior.

Because a lot of people are ignoring the signs and when He does come it WILL be like a thief in the night. My advise to you would be to make the necessary preparations for His coming.

Well, He still hasn't let us know exactly when He is coming. In fact, it is His Father that knows when He will be coming.
He gives us the signs because He wants us to be prepared/prepare for His coming. His speaking of "Like a thief in the night" is simply to illustrate the fact that we do not know the exact time.

Because Satan returns first playing God.
Satan will deceive the whole world.
Then the true Christ returns totally unexpected.

I think you have a misconception of this phrase. what it mean is that. You never know when a thief will come to your house. If you did, then you would wait for him to come, to catch him.
So when it says like a thief in the night. it means he will come without warning, and catch you off guard, then it will be to late to save yourself.

Although one may observe the day approaching no one knows the day nor hour.
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 25:13
If one is planning to wait until He returns and then confess, repent and all that - at the last minute.....it isn't going to happen.
