I know the religion speaks of not harming any living creature, was wondering if this would refer to food also.

On the wall of the church office where I worked was a poster reading: "For God so loved the World that He did not send a committee!"

That is what I was told in Catholic school. How can you apply yourself to a faith that you can't understand? Think of all the opportunities to get it wrong.

people accused of treason, heretics, witches, queen just didn't like you, etc etc.......used to routinely be drawn and quartered, deboweled, burned at the stake. Most of these people who died the most brutal deaths were hardly criminals.

NOW, the worst raping murdering, serial killing, torturing scum of the earth is given every comfort.

Don't you think it's so unfair that not long ago people were routinely put to horribly painful deaths who didn't deserve it,
and now we dont' use these forms of punishment on those who truly deserve it?

There is no justice.

Also, are women prophets (prophetesses) recognized in Islam? There were several in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.

If there were women prophets in Islam, who were they?

Don't tell me there's not. When there's suicide and murder and drugs and child molesters out there. When someone can have it in their mind to use airplanes as missiles the way they did on 9-11, to me that's evil.

Why do Christians cling on desperately to the lies they are fed by the Wolves in sheep's clothing and refuse to examine the Bible for the confirmation that Jesus was two thieves crucified and Christ was set free and wqas unharmed under the protection of the Roman Governors?

people behaved the way they should and the way it was intended for us to behave, would we have the hungry, homeless, toxins creating diesase, wars, crime, drugs, abuse, rape, and hate?
Would people be able to die with dignity and surrounded with love and support if we behaved the way it was intended?
If you say yes to either than why does God get the blame?

This may sound a little out there for some people ... but here goes: I was raised catholic, but i never became confirmed because i knew that the catholic religion was not for me (i thought it would be VERY dissrespectful to be confirmed and then never go to church again). Anyways - now that i'm a mother i want my children to have the choice or 'freedom' to choose whatever religion they would like to practice. I want to familiarize them with christianity, judaism, islam, buddhism, and hinduism so when they ar mature enough to realize what they want to practice (if anything at all) they will have all their options open. I figure that at least they will have learned about other cultures doing this and that will be a plus - what do you think?

I just read someone said 7 years. I almost dropped my eggs when I read that one. Even if it is true, why would God want it that long anyway? Why not just 7 hours or 7 days? And there's that number 7 again. Anyhoo, can someone please shed some light? Thanks!

Also, how we would relate to the animal kingdom if this were true?

I'm not referring supernatural or ethereal beings, but I still think this belongs in the R&S section because the implications lead to the "Where do we come from, Who are we" situation.
