The Apostolic Pardon or Apostolic Blessing is a great Catholic "death benefit".

Every Catholic should keep a copy of it with them, and make certain that their sick or elderly relatives have a copy, too.

Properly administered by a priest, when a person is near death, and along with the other final sacraments, it results in the soul of the deceased being conducted directly to heaven, with no necessity of purgation.

Another little known fact about the "pardon" is that in the case of a Catholic who dies without the beneficial services of a priest, so long as that person is a Catholic in good standing, and had recently prayed, the "pardon" is automatic.

Evidently, some of our Protestant friends have a problem with this.

I can't figure out why, because most of them don't believe in either priests or Purgatory, and most of them do believe in "once saved, always saved".

I guess there's no pleasing those guys!

An indulgence given for the remission of sins. The Apostolic Pardon is given by a priest, usually along with Viaticum It is not usually given as part of the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. However if the Anointing of the Sick is given with Viaticum, in exceptional circumstances or an emergency, it may be given then. Prior to the Second Vatican Council, the Apostolic Pardon was called the Apostolic Blessing.

According to the church, a person who is properly disposed who receives the Apostolic Pardon gains the complete pardon of all their sins. The Apostolic Pardon also has the effect of pardoning the person of all punishment due for their sins, and prepares the person for immediate entry into Heaven.

Apostolic Pardon means your misdeed is for given by the Pope or The Holy Father.

In spite of the Bible stating in Matthew 23:9 says - And do not call anyone on earth 'father' for you have one Father and He is in heaven. The Roman Church calls the fallible human person the Holy Father. There is no one holy on this earth because God said since Adam and Eve all human born is considered a sinner.

If you RCs continue in this tapestry - meaning disobeying the
Words of God for the sake of Satanic traditions - you will just have to meet your maker and explain to Him why human traditions should be honored ahead of the infallible words of God.
