Absolutely. That is why functional/disfunctional families are such an issue. How our parents raise us sets a pattern for how we view the world.
If a child is raised by racists, they will become racist.
If a child is raised by snobs, they will become a snob.
If a child is raised by bitter, angry people, they will probably become a bitter, angry person, without knowing why!
If a child is raised in an abusive home, they become fearful.
If a child is raised in a loving home, thay may become a loving person.
Obviously, we all make our own choices, but it is hard to escape the "programming" our parents/guardians lay down in the very beginning!
