Should what you believe impact how your live your everyday life? Or, do you think religion is an outlet for our psychological and emotional needs that does not need to change anything in our day-to-day routine?

This will be the 3rd time I am asking this question because YA! keeps removing my question....

I had my first encounter with 2 Jehovah's Witnesses. They were 2 nice old ladies. We had a pleasant conversation for 30 mins. The first thing they said was "Did you know that you can live forever?". I had to repeatedly tell them I am an atheist. I was appalled by their faith. And it was not a nice feeling to me.

What has your encounter, if any, been with JW?

I hear quite often that evolution is only a theory. But its not. It is both a fact and a theory. The fact is that evolution happens. There is no denying or argument over that in the scientific community. However, HOW it happens is the theory, and is still up for debate. So why is it that people refuse the believe the FACT of evolution, and only focus on the THEORY of evolution to try and discredit the idea?

Catholic Question?
Why do you call your priest father, when the Bible tells you not to?
Call no man Father apoun the earth, for such is your Father in Heaven. Please do not tell me that your priest is your spiritual father on earth. Context dictates that very thing. Call no-man (spiritaul) father on earth. God does not expect you to call your priest father in the secular since right? So if you do then it could only be in the spirit form. Just wondering

I am confused about this.

The bible says that people will go to heaven to be judged after the rapture. It says the bodies will fly out of the graves. But what happens when someone dies now? Where do they go?

Basically I am wondering when this judgement is supposed to take place.

I know it sounds daft, but couldn't you believe that Jesus and Allah are both prophets, and be at peace with both?
Or is it one or the other?

My teenage son is 16 years old. He hangs around shops with other knobs punching old ladies and taking their 20pence piece out of their purses. He always wears a kind of hood so nobody will recognize him. He always writes on the walls, bus stops and shop shutters and he drinks 4 cans of cheap lager until he's blind drunk. I've now discovered that there is millions like him in England. What should I do? Can I not just kick his head in and get it out of my system? Please advice me to rip his head off? I hate my son! He's ugly and so is all his friends who go around trying to threat the decent adults on the street.

Should I take his Grand Theft Auto off him which he stole from Woolworths?

I have always experienced deja-vu but lately it has been more frequent, as much as 3 or 4 times a week and for a short period I felt it once a day. I feel that it has to do with what I am dreaming but if I knew exactly what it was then I would not be on here asking. Thanks

Rev. Phelps, Westboro Church, the Crusades, Jerry Falwell, Whatever, we seem to be stigmatized alot by past Christian behavior, and current outspoken fundies. Its on the board alot, about how we force beliefs, hate homosexuals, etc. Do you ever wish you could find another term, and start over the way Christ really intended it? I love the message of love and tolerance Christ left us, and so many Christians have stepped on it. I WANT to follow Christ, but sometimes I wish there was away to lose the stigma. Atheists always say how funny original sin sounds, making a person pay for the sins of his family before him, and yet they make us pay for the sins of people in our religion. If you could change the name "Christian", what would you change it too?

Jesus was NOT a cracka'!! No he wasn't!! Jesus had soul, brotha'. Believe me when I tell you this. I know 'da truff!!

You just think he was because all the pictures you see show he was a donkey-riding cracka'. Those pictures were drawn by prejudice white folk tryin' to keep the brotha' down.
