As a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son. He is one of the members of the triune God. Therefore, you must believe that Jesus is God in order to be able to say that you believe in the true God. To not believe that He is God is to believe in a false god. People who pray to a false god are praying to an idol.

Because we know that Jesus was from the Father and was fully God as well as man.
Col 1:15-20
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
(from New International Version)
John 14:9
9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

Not all christians believe that. im a christian and i know that there are people who are not christians believe in God. Satan believed in God. the devil and his demons know he is real. im not trying to compare you to them but just proving a point. please don't let one christians point of view make you think that we are all that narrow minded.
God bless!

1) I am a Christian
2) I do not believe those things.
Ergo, your premise, without the qualifier "some" before the term "Christians", falls flat by making some broad generalizations without warrant.
