If an instance occurs that can be considered amazing or dramatic his reaction sometimes is "Oh, my god!" He doesn't practice his religion regurlarly and even more so rarely. Why does he say it so loosely. I guess it's just a thing people say, right?

I don't believe in the mainstream religions out there i.e. Christianity, Islam, Judaism and so forth but I believe the earth was created of something not necessary from a "god(s)."

The creator(s) isn’t the personification that most religion based their faith (the personal god) but could be anything from the universe itself to whatever is out there.

I don’t believe in an afterlife or worship/pray to anything/anyone. I don’t think this creator(s) knows we even exist.

I believe in evolution, the big bang theory and the science. I think that we are stardust (we’re carbon based life-forms) from a supernova or nebula.

So what am I?

is it a place you are going to go as a reward for a life of loyalty, is it your puppy love, is it the best place you have ever been, is it where you will live in harmony with the love of your life.........or is there no such place......or a place where other human beings (who have no special right to knowing what is right) to tell you where you will be rewarded if you follow their particular party line.....life is short......be good to one and other

Or do you just prefer the mushrooms?

How is a body supposed to rise up to heaven? That's impossible without like a jetpack or something, which i really doubt they had back then.

And where is heaven? In space? Is Jesus traveling in space right now? Do you think astronomers could find him in their telescopes? Plus I hear it's pretty cold out there. Did Jesus bring a sweater with him?

If God created everything, and God provided religion, how are God's words so easily twisted to support violence against his own creation? Hitler used christianity to support his nationalized anti-semitism, but anti-semitism, slavery and other forms of what we now consider abuse were once supported by Christian doctrine - Spanish Inquisition anyone? Think of all the warring hotspots in the world. How many of them are fueled by the use of religious works which many say are inspired by God?

The natural counter-argument is that "We cannot understand the will of God." This means that God's will is not deductively logical.
If God isn't logical, how do we know that what he actually wants us to do is actually what he is asking us to do (which would be logical)?

I went to a school today thinking that I was going to have peace about it and that I would be going to that school next year... I didn't feel I had much of a peace... I remember when I got my job, before the interview, I had a peace about it.. But how am I supposed to know if I'm making a good or bad decision? How am i supposed to know if God's talking to me or its the devil? Help! I need to make a really good decision... and I don't know what to do.

"So Jesus the son of Sapphias [chief magistrate of Tiberias], one of those whom we have already mentioned as the leader of a seditious tumult of mariners and poor people, prevented us, and took with him certain Galileans, and set the entire palace on fire ... Jesus and his party slew all the Greeks that were inhabitants of Tiberias, and as many others as were their enemies before the war began."

There are two extremes on this site: religious fanatics and atheists, with atheists dominating. There seems to be nothing in between. Neither group should be putting down other religions or religion itself. If you want to believe in nothing, that's fine. If you are happy with that, that's fine. But please don't broadcast it to everyone as if all religious people are morons. People seek religion to gain a sense of belonging, protection, and purpose. Devout Christians/Muslims/Baptists/Atheists-WHOEVER, you don't need to profess your faith or lack thereof as if it is the only correct way to live. I'm sick of it. I'm Catholic and I'm tired of being told that I'm a moron for believing in God. Anyone else agree?

At work we have a number of people that use the word "Jesus Christ" as a profane word. I complained to one of my supervisors at work and she told me that they couldn't do anything because saying "Jesus Christ" isn't in and of itself a profanity. Now if they said "God Damnit" then they could do something. I think that it isn't what you say but the way you say it that makes it a profanity. If you are using it as a profanity then it is a profanity. What do you think?

on his deathbed. Did he beat his wife? It doesn't matter. Darwin is not the bible of evolutionary theory. BECAUSE THERE IS NO BIBLE OF EVOLUTIONARY THEORY. The theory of evolution is based on 150 years of observation of the geological and fosil record. Darwin was to evolution what Newton was to physics. He did not define the science, he only laid the groundwork for further study.

The Sheikhs must be mad to challenge Allah and change the identity of the characters in His Quran.

“Born-Muslim Syndrome,” is a disease that humans contract from Iblis in his statement of claim to be better than Adam, “I am better than he.”

The prophet and his companions were successful in Islam because they accepted Quran as instructions from Allah by which they conducted their lives. They had nothing to distract from Quran and desired only the Word of Allah in their sincere devotion to Allah.

Islam has failed in people who became complacent because of their self-acclaimed “born-Muslim” status.

Islam places a serious responsibility upon the one who begins his life with Muslim parents, too serious for him to allow himself to suffer the loss of awareness and guidance as he slips into false pride and gullibility within a racist group, for Iblis was being racist when he refused to bow at the creation of Adam.
