At work we have a number of people that use the word "Jesus Christ" as a profane word. I complained to one of my supervisors at work and she told me that they couldn't do anything because saying "Jesus Christ" isn't in and of itself a profanity. Now if they said "God Damnit" then they could do something. I think that it isn't what you say but the way you say it that makes it a profanity. If you are using it as a profanity then it is a profanity. What do you think?

That's right, it depends on the context of the sentence. (Obviously, your co-workers are swearing.) I'd talk to each of them about it, since you've already gone to your supervisor. Depending on how you approach them, they may stop for you.

Yes pretty much... any word/words are profane if they're used to offend or hurt someone in my opinion.

It certainly ain't the worst thing they could say.
Bill Cosby said he thought his name was "Jesus Christ" while growing up. And his brother was "Damnit"

When I say "jesus christ" it's because i'm trying to spit his filthy name out of my mouth, people like you make me sick ,you're the reason we have all these"pc"rules and regulations.Oh ,it hurts my precious fragile sensibilities when someone(insert action here)so you run and snitch them out so you can feel better about yourself, having done a "good deed",we have enough bulls*hit to put up with ,without a*s*s*holes like you adding more.May all of your children s'h'i't razor blades you dumb *****!
