I think that the account of Creation in the Bible - or in any other religious account - is based on the people's understanding of phenomena at the time it was written (or started). Every religion has a Creation story. However, for most scientists, the Big Bang, followed by an extremely long period of time during which chance events could become viable probabilities (i.e., the formation of the elements, then inorganic compounds, then organic compounds, etc.) makes more sense than a simplistic Creation story. However, you can always ask, "Who made the laws of nature?" And you can ask, "Did Someone 'interfere' with the chance progression of chemistry, such as infusing life into non-living matter?" And you can ask, "Did Someone 'interfere' with the chimpanzee genome to create humans?" And you can ask, "Did Someone 'interfere' with one of Mary's eggs to produce a special Embryo?"

No.

There isn't the slightest scrap of evidence for it...only the claims of a long-dead desert tribe that knew nothing about geology, planetology, astronomy, or biology. It is plainly a myth, with talking animals, magic happening every few seconds, and things going *poof*. I'd sooner believe the DaVinci Code than Creationism.

No, I don't believe in Biblical creationism. For me, the evidence for evolution and common descent is insurmountable. However, I am converting to Roman Catholicism, so I'm not giving up on God by accepting evolution. You can feel free to email me or instant message me if you would like to discuss the creation/evolution debate.

No. It's a choice between evidence I can see in the rocks versus a story written in a book by people who can't even claim to be there. Hmmmmmm......

No, because when compared to reality, it's absurd. It sounds like a four year old child trying to explain something that he has seen but does not understand.

It is a fact; all you have to do is look around you and you will see the millions of beautiful things that your God created. I would not think for a moment that these came from nothing, that they came about by themselves....KECK
