"So Jesus the son of Sapphias [chief magistrate of Tiberias], one of those whom we have already mentioned as the leader of a seditious tumult of mariners and poor people, prevented us, and took with him certain Galileans, and set the entire palace on fire ... Jesus and his party slew all the Greeks that were inhabitants of Tiberias, and as many others as were their enemies before the war began."
– Josephus , Life 12.

What didn't exist

I can't say that Jesus of Nazareth never existed, simply because there are no writings about him outside of the Bible. To say so would mean that just because someone wasn't written about, means they didn't exist. Not very likely. I believe that the Bible is embellished and probably stories about several different people all accredited to this Jesus. But the one in this part of Josephus' writings is not the the Jesus of Nazareth. It seems he is talking about another, from the description "son of Sapphias". If he was the son of a chief magistrate, then there would be Roman writings about him. Something you could look up, if you really wanted to.

Besides, Josephus wrote things he was told by other people, so almost all of his writings is mere hearsay (or heresy, depending on how you look at it).

Where did he write that?
And WHAT never existed? Nazareth? Actually, it did. It was just so small that most didn't know about it.

Here is what Josephus REALLY said about Jesus:
"About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he was one who wrought surprising feats and was a teacher of such people as accept the truth gladly. He won over many Jews and many of the Greeks. he was the Christ. When Pilate, upon hearing him accused by men of the highest standing among us, had condemned him to be crucified, those who had in the first place come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared to them restored to life, for the prophets of God had prophesied these and countless other marvelous things about him. And the tribe of Christians, so called after him, has still to this day not disappeared."

From Josephus' Antiquities

It was falsified, the original doesn't mention Jesus. And why would he since there were several people claiming to be the Messiah in Palestine. Also, Josephus died a devout Jew, who had very little, if anything, good to say about Christians. One other passage blatantly says that "Jesus was the Messiah", even though Josephus never believed it.

The question you improve leaves a sprint to be needed. Are you in grade college? Nazareth is a city and is pronounced interior the Bible. "Him existed, any poofs" ..whoa! No, Jesus isn't pretend. communicate over with a minister, study the Bible and notice for your self.

Jesus (which by the way, was even before Abraham; John 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.") was supposed by many to be the son of Joseph, but was in fact the Son of God.

All of the "quotes" that are attributed to Josephus when he mentions jesus, have been determined to be fakes.
Sorry, reality trumps fantasy yet again.
