...that scientists or mathematicians have worked out that there is a 65% chance that there is a God. I didnt have time to read the whole thing and I'm not sure whether this question should be here or in the maths sections but does anyone have any idea how they might have worked that out?

Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of Hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger.

It just dawned on me what this is talking about. From verse 10 to 13 it speaks of the sky blotting out the moon and stars, and dimming the sun. Mankind shall become an endangered species, and the earth will tumble out of its orbit. All of this could easily come to pass should Yellowstone ignite like a rocket booster. And there's not thing one we can do about it. Well, maybe not. A few verses later it speaks about how all of this happens after the king of Babylon is destroyed. Maybe we don't want to hang the man just yet...

Some of the most "spiritual" experiences I've had were watching meteor showers - I've seen some spectacularly large and colorful showers in recent years.

Questions: how did various cultures in the past view these events, from a religious perspective?

Have you ever seen a good meteor shower? Do you plan to watch the Leonids this Saturday (tomorrow) night?

See Yahoo's news article below for more info.

and yet, these westerners forget that their countries' governments are the REAL TERRORISTS... Muslims have every right retaliating BACK...

I mean, women covering their faces is an issue...
turbans is an issue...
Azan, Call for prayers in a Mosque is an issue...
Arabs are an issue....

what religious tolerance do they have??

when in muslim countries, I see MANY westerners flirt with women openly, drink booz, eat pigs, and so much more that Islamic countries usually DO NOT DO...

compare Muslims' religious tolerance and the westerners...

Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and his name shall be called wonderful, counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of peace."

One man said "I and my father are one, If you have seen me you have seen the father."

The temple is gone-the sacrifice for sins -unless we believe Isaiah is gone, Judaism would be done according to Moses-Leviticus 17 vs 11 "The life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it upont the altar to make atonement for your souls."

Isaiah 700 bce didnt quit on showing us who the Messiah would be Isaish 52:13-53:12 He will be exaulted. First he will lay down hisLifeForSin

Daniel Steele says its written wrong interpreted and on she goes-what is the problem-oh It points only to Jesus-well this is the orthodox Jewish translation, not the liberal reform 'Jewish' version the rewrote the bible, and claim the Jewish Scriptures isnt even the Lords word.

Well who will you believe-Isaiah, Jesus or Danielle?

Let's say that you're a Christian prisoner in a situation where someone says "convert to my religion (example, Islam) or die." So you "convert," basically telling them what they want to hear so that you can live, while believing and knowing in your heart that you are still a Christian. You pray 5 times a day, but they think you're praying to Allah/Mohammed when you're really praying to God/Jesus. You wear the headcovering, study the quran, etc. Is this wrong just to save your life until you can esacpe/get out, or is it better to die professing your faith? I'm talking morally, not based on what each religion thinks.

This is just a hypothetical situation, not meant to offend or demote anyone's religion.

This is not any more inflamitory than the droves of "religious do gooders" that insult (assault) those of us who do not follow "traditional" religions or any religion at all.
So, I'd really like to know, "WHY WON'T YOU STOP BELIEVING?"

Hey all my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! Well, I'm asking for your help, please!
Well, lately I've really not been happy! I wake and I tell myself I will definitely be happy and not get irritated with my mom...but it doesn't happen! I really don't feel as though I've got any feelings; I don't feel happy, or sad!

I also feel as though I'm not being the good Christian I used to be! Whenever I do something that's wrong, I do realise that it's against what God wants me to do...but I just can't seem to bring myself to do the right thing!

I want to be happy and stop hurting my mom! And I of course don't want to drift from my relationship with God, plus I can't dream of leaving my Saviour behind!

What can I do?
Can you also give me some verses from the Bible that will make me feel better?

Thanks all, may God bless ya'll

Please state which country you're from, and if you think it's relevant to your answer, your religion and ethnicity.

I'm putting this in "Religion" because I asked it in "Cultures and groups" and nobody answered.

If the messiah( or your god whoever that may be) came to you and told you that you were going to heaven right now but your family, children, friends were going to hell to burn for all eternity what would say, or do for that matter? Would you go knowing they were going to hell, or would you stay with them and suffer their fate because you love them? Go or stay whats it gonna be? This is not a foolish question if you are religious but one that you just might have to answer someday.

i consider myself a fairly tolerant person, i have friends of all religions and have been around the world.
I was quite shocked to read that in saudi arabia there is such a thing as religious police.
It also bothers me that even though i accept people as they are and do not force my style and beliefs on them, when visiting other countries i have often faced the pressure of having to abide by their rules.
I need your thoughts on tolerance... I think it is a concept that should apply to all the world.

Just as some of the Hindu Gods have blue skin I strongly believe Jesus was one of these blue-skinned individuals - I have no evidence to back up my belief but I just know he was special and blue.
