This is not any more inflamitory than the droves of "religious do gooders" that insult (assault) those of us who do not follow "traditional" religions or any religion at all.
So, I'd really like to know, "WHY WON'T YOU STOP BELIEVING?"

C'mon people, this is a RHETORICAL question. I wanted to show how rediculous it is to try to change a person's beliefs my merely telling them to, NOT give you all an excuse to do just that.
Just the fact that so many of you did not "get" the question gives me my answer:
Many (not all) are not inclined to ask their own questions, form their own opinions, or find their own truth.

It does not bother me if anyone believes anything. I, myself am on my own path to finding my own "beliefs". In fact, I have a few already; patience, tolerance, compassion, and a basic do unto others philosophy.
Since I haven't heard anyone testifying on the behalf of Buddha, Allah, Pan, Vishnu, or Ra, I can only assume that Christians are the only ones who have taken offense.

I'm sorry you've been insulted/assaulted by Christians for not believing their way. I don't believe that is a good way to get people on your side in any circumstance. I started believing because I was born into a Christian family and I just believed it without questioning. I'm 23 now, and over the last couple of years, I've really started thinking for myself. I don't vote republican straight across the board. I vote for who is the best for the position. I don't stand outside of the abortion clinic door with nasty signs. I don't yell and condemn people to hell. I believe that everyone is looking for acceptance and love and since Christ gave that to even the most hated and disgraceful of people, I do too. I believe because, even though everything doesn't make sense, it gives me a peace and a hope and a deep joy that can't be given or taken away by anyone or anything. I may not always be happy and life may not always be easy, but my Heavenly Father always holds me close and walks with me through everything. He's always there and is ready to listen through good and bad. I don't stop believing because that would be crazy to me. Even though everything I said probably sounds crazy to you,

If other people want to keep believing in something that you don't believe in, what's it to you? Show a little tolerance.

Your comments are further proof that a lot of secularists and atheists are the most intolerant people on the planet.

It reminds me of Elton John calling for a ban on religion the other day. He must not be too confident in his own beliefs, if he's calling for a ban on something with which he doesn't agree. It's an act of intolerance on his part, not to mention an act of fear.

I will never stop believing in God or Jesus . And I will never stop praying for you. Why do you keep coming into the religion and spirituality forums if it bothers you so much that we believe????

Because whether you believe it or not, God knows that you need what you read here. Praise the Lord!!

Traditions are always stronger than an individual. Therefore you may feel odd one out if you go out of the norm, but then accept yourself as you are. Since it is after all your idea to practice not as per the rules or laws already set in certain religious belief that you follow.

why? because once you drop the pretense and let the revealed truth into your heart you will not want to believe the lies served up by the lying spirit of the world, but hey, it takes a little humility and that`s something Christian haters do not understand.
Jesus is Lord and Saviour, this is Truth.

If we stop believing in our Heavenly Father and his son JESUS CHRIST, we would die (a spiritual death). We would have no hope, that there is a better life awaiting us in Heaven. We live by this hope. We know this life here on earth is short, but we have eternity to look forward it. And it is real, not a fairytale. You to have a life after death, we all do. Would you rather believe in Heaven for ever and ever,,, or Hell for ever and ever?????? The chose is yours alone no one can make it for you. I choose to believe in my God and his son. It is my own personal chose. God bless you.

You cant taste its flavour so you cant and wont understand why we wont stop believing. Believing is the support to your life and your inner feelings. If you dont have any of it, then that means you are a tiny little boat in the ocean, but we, believers are the sailingboats with our huge sails which called religions and we re turning our sails to Allah to lead us to the reliable harbors.

Because of all the study I've done it has re-enforced my beliefs, not disproven them. And I've studied a lot, I was a religion major.

Everyone has to believe in something. Some believe the NT, some the OT, some believe in Budda etc etc. Then there are some who believe in nothing. Its all whatever eases your mind.
