TRUE Christians do NOT believe the earth will be destroyed. Ps. 37:29 says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside FOREVER upon it." Ps. 104:5 says: "It (the earth) will not be made to totter to time indefinite or forever."
In prayer to his Father, Jesus said at Matt. 6:10: "Let your will take place as in heaven, also upon earth."
The Bible does use the term "earth" in a figurative sense in referring to wicked mankind. They are the ones that will be destroyed, not the physical planet. See 2 Pet. 3:5, 6.

There are several statements in the Holy Quran about the end of our Earth. The scientists upholding Big Bang concept, seem to support the Revelation, scientifically, by predicting the End along with the End of the Universe. Either by a stop in its expansion when there would be no heat anywhere; or by the beginning of the process of 'shrinking' when there would be extreme hot--- you may say FIRE evrywhere in the Universe. The Creator/ Designer of the Universe knows better. It is not a matter of basic-belief in any Religion. These are tertiary beliefs, and several interpretations are possible.

Jehovah's Christian Witnesses know from accurate knowledge of the Bible that our marvelous planet earth will be here forever. What does the Bible teach us about the earth? These Scriptures will help you:
"One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever."--Ecclesiastes 1:4 (KJV)
"Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth."-- Psalm 119:90
"But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."--Psalm 37:11
"Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever."--Psalm 104:5
"For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else. "--Isaiah 45:18 (ASV)
"The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah; But the earth hath he given to the children of men."-- Psalm 115:16 (ASV)
The "world " that will be destroyed, will be the world of ungodly people. God promises to destroy those who destroy the earth by their wars and pollution--"And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."
Rev 11:18
Our earthly home is here to stay.
