After having several questions about asking difficult, but respectful questions of Christians and well as Republicans, I tried an experiment and reported a blatant anti-atheist rant. After 3 days, they've done nothing - the question is still there!

Yahoo! What is going on???

I am a believer of jesus christ, I want to go to a church that mainly praises and worships jesus and has sermons that are positive sermons and not negative sermons. i cannot stand to be at a church that is all about hell and damnation that pulls me further from God, so what type of church would work best that deals with the positive aspects of religion and praise and worship and not the negative stuff. I know a lot of ;you people believe you have to listen to the negative stuff but it takes me away from religion. Religion should only be about the positive aspects in life and learning our lessons instead of damning one another.

OK so there seems to be this belief that the "soul" exists separate from the body...kind of like a magically force that trancends the physical realm. If this is true, how can people end up "chemically depressed". You'd think their "soul" and feelings would be separate from the very real physical and chemical world. What about strokes for instance? Someone suffers a stroke and their personality changes (again a physical response). How do you explain the existance of a soul in relation to all the measurable, physical things like this that can happen to a human brain ????

How much can we know about existence as a whole without being able to view it from and outside perspective? i.e. Imagine that the universe is a bubble, and you are on the outside looking in; how would you describe it?

I really don't get it. Not only do you believe in an imaginary creature (two actually, one being an unproven historical figure) but you also are subservient to it? What is the appeal of that? Why would you take away your own freedom to think and feel and project the control of your life onto an idea that doesn't even talk back to you?

From Luke 19:1-10 (this is summarized):

A sinful woman forgiven. In this story, one of the Pharisees Asked Jesus to eat with him. A woman who was a sinner had found that Jesus would be at the Pharisees house. She went to the house with an alabaster jar of ointment, and she stood at Jesus’ feet, and she kissed his feet and bathed his feet in her tears and dried them with her hair. Then she anointed his feet with the ointment. Jesus told the Pharisee that he had not been welcomed by him, but the woman who was a sinner had because she had kissed his feet and bathed his feet in her tears and dried them with her hair. So Jesus told the woman her sins and told her that her faith has been saved and she can go in peace.

How was Jesus's action unusual? It's for a religion hmwrk question, but I don't see how his reaction was unusual? It's usual for Jesus to forgive sinners if they mean it, is it not?

People say that "god" answers their prayers. I mean we see it all the time in football games when a player scores a touchdown. So, I ask myself, why arent these people praying for all the dying people in the hospitals? I mean, if "god" will help some guy score a touchdown, then SURELY he will help a dying child, right? Well, Princeton did a study on just this very thing, here is the link:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4681771.stm

As you have seened , prayer had no effect. Similarly, The prayer the guy made after he scored the touchdwon had no effect on him socring the touchdwon.

So, I ask, with all honesty, Why Pray??

What if, when later she/he was asked about it, said that she/he would never do such a thing? What then? For example: I take the Lord as my savior and a week later I say, "F*ck that! I don't believe in God! I would have never done such a thing."

If the Koran clearly forbids them to do so?
"Let the believers not make friends with infidels in preference to the faithful—he that does this has nothing to hope for from God—except in self-defense" (3:28).
"Believers, do not make friends with any but your own people. They will spare no pains to corrupt you. They desire nothing but your ruin. Their hatred is evident from what they utter with their mouths, but greater is the hatred which their breasts conceal" (3:118).

That's the big difference you know. Most atheists have decided that god isn't real because they've explored both sides of the coin. There is credibility when you're arguing from the position of someone who was religiously educated, and then decided it was wrong, as opposed to only having the religous point of view to go by.

We tell children try things before they say they don't like them, so what's your excuse theists? Are you afraid that trying a different viewpoint might open your eyes? What do you have to lose... you can always beg for forgiveness and go back.
