I've been a Christian for most of my life (just turned 57), and I've never known anyone who thinks the earth is only 6000 years old, except some weirdos on the internet.
Neither do I know one single Christian who thinks they can explain dinosaurs and cave men....well, except for those weirdos on the internet.
You do meet some pretty strange people on the internet, don't you agree??

Even evolutionist do not believe that cave man lived millions of years ago.
Well there is a lot of confusion about the age of the earth. The dates we compile from the Bible are about 6200 years-true. From our science text we get much older dates. These dates have changed a lot in the last 100 years or so. Prior to 1830 the earth was thought by some to be about 150,000 years old. As time has gone by that has changed. Now I think the current age is dated at 4.5 billion years old for the earth and about 10 times that for the universe. The problem is that we have no way to check the dates. We just do not know how old anything is that does not have a date stamped on it. No one does. Geologist made up a theoretical table of the settled out layers of the earth about 175 years ago and called it the 'geologic column'. Each layer was assigned a date range. Later a fossil was assigned to each layer called the 'index fossil'. Now when someone finds a dinosaur bone, they also look for an index fossil in the same layer so they can assume that the dinosaur bone is the same age as the index fossil. Its a little complex, but that is how dates are assinged to "old" bones and rocks. This is always an "assumed" age. There is no way to check it. Radio-metric dateing methods are sometimes used to confirm an assumed age, but they usually never agree. They are used only when they agree with the index fossil. So-the index fossil is the standard, which is assumed, so we just don't really know. We are just guessing.

even Alexander the great when in China was told by the people they would give him gold if they left their dragon alone...
Down here in Texas there is a Dinosaur park in Glen Rose and they have Dino tracks and HUMAN tracks in the same period but it is funny how shows like the discovery channell and Nova will not show them.. the Bible says in the later days men (women too) will choose to believe a lie..... also if the world is so old (every year a Miliscopic about of dust lands on the moon) and when they landed there it was only about 3-5 inches deep and the scientist calculated that the moon would be about 6-10 thousand years old.. and no cave men ever existed check the facts.....................have fun...................

Your presuppositions are based on a man made theology called Evolution. Some people mainly being Christians believe in God's Word, the Bible, regardless of what man likes to make up to deceive millions of people. God says in the beginning that He created the heavens and the earth. Based on the genealogy of mankind dating the world since Adam to the present, the earth isn't that old. Dinosaurs existed with man. Fossilized dinosaur footprints are found alongside man's footprints. Cave men are a made up fairy tale. Don't believe the hype. God created man in His own image.

In arguing that same question with my brother, my dad said this; God created a past while creating the present. Makes sense! It put a stop to the arguing.
I like to think of God's creative abilities much the same way as any designer. When you first start your designs are crude at best, and over time your skills get better. In your peak performance you create your masterpiece. So I like to think that God played around for awhile before getting to his masterpiece (us). And I think he had a thing for dinosaurs. Look how many he made and so many different kinds and for such a long time.
P.S. I have been to Glen Rose park. And there are not human prints next to dinosaur prints. You are full of it!

We don't believe that they existed millions of years ago, you do. So I have no trouble with the Bible account and can easily fit creation into 6 days because I believe God is able to do that. We as Christians interpret the data differently than you do. We believe man and dinosaurs existed at the same time, Archaeologically pr oven in Texas, in the Plexuses River there are dinosaurs foot prints with human foot prints within them. How do you explain that one? There is evidence both ways, and we just choose to believe in God.

Mainstream/mainline Christians don't see a conflict between their theology and a contemporary understanding of the origins of life and of humanity. They certainly don't believe that the world is only 6,000 years old. We do not read Genesis as a science text (something its original compilers I think would have chuckled to imagine); we read it as a work of theology, a faith statement that makes some claims about the nature of God (a God who loves humanity and sticks by it even when humanity is God-averse and self-destructive, and who calls individuals and groups into relationship with God). We believe those are truths; and truth is not synonymous with historical or scientific fact.

Dinosaurs were made by God, and I am not sure how old the earth is. I have no problem thinking either way - maybe it's young, and maybe it's old. I guess it just depends on how God views "a day". The Bible makes a reference to a day being as a thousand years to God, and a thousand years as a day. So it doesn't matter to me how old it is - it is what it is.

People beleive man is 6,ooo years old and that the earth was created in 6 days and on the seventh God rested but in God's eyes the blink of an eye is 1,000 years so 6 days would be a really long time.

HHow do you know? Were you there? It really doesn't matter how old is the world. Man has been around about 7,000 years. We also know dinosaurs roamed the earth less than 10,000 years ago. God was there. He wrote about it in Genesis of The holy Bible. I'd rather believe Him than you.
