I've heard, you don't have to believe in God to be spiritual. Please educate me in this ideal.

I know not all Christians are anti-gay but for the ones who are it almost seems to be the driving focus of whatever weird interpretation of faith they adhere to.

Please don't offer any religious text (ie. the Bible, the Quran etc) as your answer.

As a writer I am wondering what fictional books people have enjoyed. Thank you for your honest answers.

If you believe in something then it would seem you have the issue encapsulated, whereas if you have an idea it allows you room to grow. Isn't it better to grow? I feel that with a belief you would become stagnet. Or am I missing something about having beliefs?

I am already 24 yrs old and have yet to reach any kind of success. In fact, my life has been held back by severe depression and lust problem. Despite my conditions and frustrating environment, I tried hard to fight through all that in a hope that life will get better in the future. That is why I stayed away from drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex.
Yet, the result is my life didn't get better. I keep struggling as I get older. I have yet to reach any kind of financial success. It seems so depressing and miserable that I wonder why God created me in the first place if my purpose was to suffer like this most of the time.
Does God create everyone for a reason? Why did He even create me if my life is full of sufferings, mental torutures? I try to be patient but I have been suffering for a long time and it is too much for me to keep going like this. No matter how hard I try, my efforts isn't enough. My prayers didn't work, too for some reason.

I just don't get it. Just because you don't believe in God, it doesnt make you inferior, or more educated, or right. If God (or the concept God) can convert my dad from an alcholic abusive man, to a man who tries to be more christ like, then I say what's the harm, and why judge someone for it?

How does one know if He's sad? Does it rain?

If God has feelings, which is something i recently heard to be true, then does that mean he might get depressed or feel down? Is that why he wants us to worship him? Because he needs us to be his self esteem booster?

It seems like emotion would not be needed by an omnicient being like a God. Arent emotions human traits? Why so gung-ho with God personification?

It doesnt make sense to me , personaly i dont believe in eternal torment, thats why I dont go to church any more because they all
preach it to some extent. Even the worst sinner in the world would
not deserve that kind of punishment in my opinion. I am a universalist
christian.

Why are there many Christians messed up in the head? The reason I'm asking this is because many Christians act like they know God even though they never met the guy and they think a book that is over 2000 years old is the answers to life.

My Research, There are no passages in the Bible which state that Christ made His church the infallible interpreter of His Word.

But Catechism says, "How can you get the true meaning of the Bible? You can get it only from God's official interpreter of the Church."

What?!

The Bible says, "For we write nothing to you that you do not read and understand." 2 Cor. 1:13

We are commanded and exhorted: grow in knowledge (2 Pet. 3:18), study (2 Tim. 2:15), exercise senses (Heb. 5:14), search (Acts 17:11), receive (James 1:21), read (Eph. 3:3-4), desire it (2 Pet. 2:2), let it unfold (Psalm 119:130), meditate on it day and night (Psalm 1:2) hear it read (Rev. 1:3), have it preached (2 Tim. 4:2-4; 1 Pet. 4:11), test what is said (1 John 4:1; Matt. 7:15-16), prove all things (1 Thess. 5:21).

The inspired writers taught that we most certainly can understand the Scriptures.

What is wrong with the Catechism?

Is this something that only happens in the R+S section? Is it because people who have been here a long time are somewhat programmed to look for a question that says something like "Why are atheists so stupid?" instead of someone who asks "I would like to know something about why atheists believe what they do?"

Sorry, I'm just very interested in Psychology and how it relates to this section
