Reviewing some profiles on answers, it became obvious the reason was not to really ask a question, but rather push an agenda or belief. It would be nice to hear many views, and learn from them rather than try to breed hatred.

I'm asking from a non-Muslim point of view.

Do you believe Allah cares for (or about ) you/humans? Or is it only humans that need to care for (about) God only?

I have been going through a very rough time lately. I consider myself a very spiritual person. I believe in god. I do not follow any religion. I have very good morals. I would like to start attending church, yet I do not know what religion I am. When I research different religions I find myself not believing some belief that is held. I seem to pick and choose philosophies from each that work for me. I need support but I do not know if I can totally believe or agree with everything they believe... does this make sense? I do not know what to do...

I am more mature than him spiritually...He's also a Christian, but his spiritual life, for a long time, remained stagnant... i find it really hard to encourage him in the Lord... he's one of the most respected intellectuals in the world. Right now his message that religion is dangerous is making a lot of waves - he just wrote a new book and put out this video on BBC:

is it so people have something to hope for? to believe?

are religous people trying to make the world a better or worse place?

is religion good or bad?

i ask this because there are so many religious nuts on here so i'm sure a lot of people will answer with bollocks such as 'our lord in heaven...' etc etc etc.

the way i see it, people have to have something to believe. personally, i believe in myself, god doesnt do my work for me, he doesnt stop me from getting stabbed or shot on the street....

when my brother was 8 a religous nut went up to him and said he is in a wheelchair because he was a sinner and had sinned in previous lives...now is that religion?

Why brethren in Christ, do we say we are sorry for believing that He IS the King of kings? We doubt his word or apologize for his translators. What know we of the Father's mind? Only what HE has revealed in creation. If the unbeliever will not see what should we do? Should we cast pearls before swine? And who is my brother? Am I the good Samaritan, or the robber, or the priest? Or the donkey?

With all due respect, the meaning of life for Christians is to go to Heaven (by loving and serving), for Hindus to be reincarnated (by living a peaceful life) and so forth.

So, for the atheist, what is the meaning or goal for your life?
I know you can't speak for all atheist but would like to hear your viewpoint or your opinion.
If you're not an atheist you're welcomed to respond with your opinion, just be respectful as well.

Thanks guys. =^)

Surah 41: 9,10,12 says, “ ...do you indeed disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two periods…and he made therein its foods, in four periods…So he ordained them seven heavens in two periods.” (2+4+2=8 days)
But in Surah 10:3, “Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the Heavens and the Earth in six periods…” It contradicts itself.

The Encyclopedia Britannica says about the Quran: “The deviations from the biblical narratives are very marked, and can in most cases be traced back to the legendary anecdotes of the Jewish Haggada and the Apocryphal Gospels. Much has been written concerning the sources from which Mohammad derived this information; there is no evidence that he was able to read, and his dependence on oral communication may explain some of his misconceptions…”

How can this book be holy and inspired by God? Another question.. what do Muslim women get if they go to "paradise" as it is called in the Quran?

Most of my childhood experiences never happened - they were just dreams. A plane never dropped a bomb on the factory next to my school and i never did see a UFO.

My dreams are so real to me...how can i tell the difference between them and reality?

If Jesus had been killed twenty years ago, would Catholic school children be wearing little electric chairs around their necks instead of crosses.

The Catholic Church's air conditioning broke down, so they
had to hire a man to crawl around in the ducts and figure
out what was wrong.

As the man peeked down through one of the vents in the
sanctuary, he saw little old Mrs. Murphy kneeling by the
altar, apparently saying her rosary. Since the man was a
fundamental Baptist, he thought it'd be funny to try and
mess with the lady's mind.

In his best authoritative voice, he said, "This is Jesus.
Your prayers will be answered."

The little old lady didn't even blink, just kept on saying
her prayers. The man decided maybe she didn't hear him, and
tried again. "This is Jesus, the Son of God! Your prayers
will be answered!"

Again, she didn't react at all. Mustering up a big breath
of air, the man decided to try again. "THIS IS JESUS
CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD! YOUR PRAYERS WILL BE ANSWERED!"

The lady looks up and says, "SHUT UP! I'M TALKING TO YOUR
MOTHER!"

What are the supposed modern day parallels between the book of revelation and life these days, supposedly within the end times? What is it talking about using the metaphorical language such as the seven bowls of gods wrath, the woman on the beast? Is it happening yet, how must we prepare?
