I have been going through a very rough time lately. I consider myself a very spiritual person. I believe in god. I do not follow any religion. I have very good morals. I would like to start attending church, yet I do not know what religion I am. When I research different religions I find myself not believing some belief that is held. I seem to pick and choose philosophies from each that work for me. I need support but I do not know if I can totally believe or agree with everything they believe... does this make sense? I do not know what to do...

We are much alike.

I prayed about this, God said to me not to join any, to go to them all, he is there, as long as there is one true believer. You meet new people and their perspectives, you'll learn more, and they get to hear your side. And later if you fine a Church you truly feel good in, perhaps that would be a good time to join:)
God Bess you

Religion is just an organized form of following a particular scriptural book. Many religions have flaws. If we all went to one church then it would mean that many were worthy yet the scriptures all say the path is narrow. It might be you are called to follow the narrow path that leads to the one true God. There are others and they are spread thinly through many religious groups. Finding one is not easy unless you are called and then when you are looking one will find you. From what you write it sounds to me like you are called. Get a copy of the Bible that reads easy for you and start reading. Read only the red letters first. Then the gospel of John. By the time you are done with those you will know if you are called. If you are you will want to keep reading and soon you will be noticed by a true believer. Choose a church by it's people not by what is preached as true. The ones who truely love each other will be the ones to begin talking with. Among them will be the knower and eventually you will be attracted to what that one or ones are saying. Then they will lead you by recomending scripture. Reading the entire Bible through will be a good thing to start doing mean while. Here is an easy order. Gen. Ex. the gospels and then the epistles through the end of Tim. Get a tape series by Malcolm Smith on how to read the Bible and listen and continue to read. After Tim. go back and read the books you missed in order. If an area does not speak to you skip it when you are ready you will read it again

It does make sense. I went through the same thing. I only go to a non denomination church because there were so many doctrines etc. that I did not agree with. I just wanted to know the word of God, and not be made to participate in a specific religion.

My dear, the first thing you have to do, if at all you are really serious is to acknowlege the fact that you are a sinner, lost without hope.Jesus alone will choose the right church that you can go, but before that you have to know that it is one thing going to the church witout christ and another going to the church with Christ in you.So my dear take a look back and see your life.See how horribble it has been. You have to know that each hour that passes draws you nearer to death. Now ask God to forgive all your sins. Be sincere. Ask Him to make you a child of God and ask Him also to give you the power to follow Him.He will forgive you when He sees that you are really sorry and ready to follow Him and He will crown it by showing you the the church to be going.
God bless you

A few years ago I was pretty much lost too. I went through a lot of different things in life and didn't know what to believe in. My family is catholic and I didn't agree with that religion so I became pentacostal. It is very spiritual and let me tell you this much-the only way to get to heaven is through the Son Jesus Christ. He died on the cross for your sins (and everyone elses) all you have to do is ask him to come in to your heart. It will completely change the way you think and the things you do and you will be so much happier in life!! I have seen the many blessings of Jesus Christ since he has been in my life and I am for the first time in my life at peace with myself. I would suggest to you to join a bible based church who firmly believes in Jesus Christ. Hoped This Helped and God Bless!!

First of all let me say that I'm not christian I'm wiccan. I use to be christian. It doesn't really matter what church you go to, your religion and your belief is in your heart. Your religion and beliefs are personal between you and your God. Please do not let anyone tell you any different. There are a lot of different churches, religions etc.. out there. Just take the time to real learn about what you are drawn to and you will be lead to which ever is right for you.

Blessings

Four years ago I can say I was in your shoes. But I was lucky enough to come across a baha'i community. Baha'i Faith is one of the newest religions and the one that made the most sense for me.

If you did not here about Baha'i Faiht before, do not wary. You can find baha'i communities all over the world, it is the "religion" most spread in the world in terms of places. You will find it in all continents, probably in most countries. Is the religion that blends perfectly all the nations and the races on he face of the earth.

I would recommend you this website - http://www.bahai.org/ - to find more information and find a community in your country for more support and guidance - http://bahai.org/national -

I sincerely hope you will find the truth hat you are looking for.

You need to know for yourself who is really the true God. I suggest you try asking Jesus Christ seriously from your heart to show Himself real to you. When He answers you you will know Jesus is really God and you can ask Him to direct you to the church that you should go. Based on the word of God the believers are the temples in whom the Holy Spirit lives. So the believers are truly the church. The church as a building is the place where all the temples of God (ie the believers) meet to worship God, learn and apply God's word to be transformed to be more like Jesus and enjoy each other company and helping one another. Hope this is helpful to you. I pray that Jesus answers your prayer. Amen.

I would suggest you look for a non-denominational or Baptist church. Find one that is committed to teaching Biblical principles not church doctrine. Many churches have studies for new believers that help you find the right church based on your beliefs. Most importantly pray and ask for guidance to find the right church home for you. God bless you and your journey.
