What are the supposed modern day parallels between the book of revelation and life these days, supposedly within the end times? What is it talking about using the metaphorical language such as the seven bowls of gods wrath, the woman on the beast? Is it happening yet, how must we prepare?

The book of Revelations is a metaphor. It was written for the Christian community being persecuted during the reign of Emperor Nero to give them hope- the message that in the end, all be be well. At that time this was a common literary form, and everyone knew it was not to be taken literally.

Christians from the very beginning have been waiting for the last days. In the very early Christian community, the celebration on Sunday included looking outside to see if Jesus was coming. For nearly 2 thousand years, we have been waiting for the end times, but Jesus said we don't know the day or the hour. Be ready. Act as if it is tomorrow. Every generation has been able to look at events and conclude that the last days were upon them. Think about what people thought during the chaos after the fall of the Roman Empire, or during the Plague. That must have seemed like the end of the world. The Book of Revelation is meant to give us hope that no matter how bad things become, God will prevail.

The woman an the beast is symbolic. The beast is a Political system like right now, world army's and leaders that rule them, now the women riding the beast political system is a spirit of satan or Jezebel spirit. And also corresponds with the false prophet! Start in John and read to the end of Revelation, then go read Daniel it lines up and explanes Revelations. ITS COMMING DOWN!

Throughout history, every generation was convinced that the words of Revelations applied to them. If you really read them for what they say (along with the Olivette Discourse) the terms are so vague and so general in nature they aren't of much value.

Watch this. I'm going to make prophesy right now...

I predict that in 2007, a famous movie star will get divorced, and another one will die.

I predict that there will be a mighty hurricane erupting in the Atlantic Ocean.

I predict there will be outbreaks of famine in Africa.

Do you see where I'm going. All of these things can apply to any time. General predictions fit every time. I wouldn't be concerned.

The end times preaching particularly in Africa is extremely dangerous and false!

Missionaries go to Africa to tell people, who have no hope in life because of war and famine, that the best they can hope for is death! Millions of Africans give up on their futures and on life its self because of this!! Life is Gods most precious gift!

Do you think Christ to return faster if you teach these innocents falsehoods?! We can not decide when he returns! Nor can we force him! Churches have been set up ONLY teaching revalation and NOTHING else in Africa!

Its WRONG and SELFISH to preach only one part of the bible! To send missionary's who do NOT help the people with love or give out food but instead tell them only about DEATH and the end times. It is Evil! Is this why Jesus died to give us no hope??? To give up on life?

I think NOT! Revelation is NOT about the future! It was written in for Christians under emperor Nero and makes perfect sense only in that context! Its ALREADY happened!

I have been hearing that the End Times are upon us for many years. Jesus has been dead for 2000 years. The Church claimed he was coming back in the year 1000.

supposedly supposed. Hmmm.
Looking for faith? Or just being cynical?
To Be or Not to Be.

In my opinion one should seek guidance in interpreting obviously arcane prophesies. Personally I'd rather live in the New Earth than perish in hell. I trust Jesus to do exactly what He intends. And I know where He stands. God is love.
