Surah 41: 9,10,12 says, “ ...do you indeed disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two periods…and he made therein its foods, in four periods…So he ordained them seven heavens in two periods.” (2+4+2=8 days)
But in Surah 10:3, “Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the Heavens and the Earth in six periods…” It contradicts itself.

The Encyclopedia Britannica says about the Quran: “The deviations from the biblical narratives are very marked, and can in most cases be traced back to the legendary anecdotes of the Jewish Haggada and the Apocryphal Gospels. Much has been written concerning the sources from which Mohammad derived this information; there is no evidence that he was able to read, and his dependence on oral communication may explain some of his misconceptions…”

How can this book be holy and inspired by God? Another question.. what do Muslim women get if they go to "paradise" as it is called in the Quran?

I'm laughing at a few responses because some of them don't answer your question, they just go off on some unrelated tangent. One of them say "Mohammad learned to read", but most Muslims INSIST that Mohammad was illiterate. Either way, this is irrelevant.

Others stray off and paste unrelated passages which don't address your question...diversion! Look at the one that makes you scroll forever...WHY DO THEY DO THAT? Quantity does NOT equal quality. I wonder if they do that just to spite you.

Some of them say they "you can't rely on the English translation", but every single one of them quotes the same formula: 2 + 4 + 2.

Others just tell you that you are ignorant or whatever for pointing this out. It's kind of like when they attack the trinity by saying "1 + 1 + 1 = 3?".

I got your point and to be honest with you, I have no answer. The Quran could seem contradicting sometimes for the ordinary reader. Scholars spend years studying trying to explain verses. How do they do this? They refer to:
1. other verses
2. the reason why this particular verse was revealed
3. the time and background when the verse was revealed
4. related hadeeth
5. other ancestor scholars explanation
6. the scientific point of view

See how complicated it is? There are so many verses in Quran that I spent years reading and understanding them in a particular way that made sense to me then found out that I was all wrong when I read explanation of the verse!

Concerning your second question, I understand you are refering to the virgins granted to the man. There are so many rewards promised to the 'moemeneen' - believers - in general that includes males and females.

One final thing. Faith is a chain. Since I believe in Allah, I believe He is Just and Fair. Even things could seem unfair to me, I am sure I will get my due reward, I hope to deserve it. The same goes to the Quran. I believe in Allah. I believe the Quran is His words, I believe Prophet Muhammad dictated it as it was revealed to him. Then every word is perfectly right and wise even if this is not very clear to me now. Allah is the All-Wise, the All-Knower.

If I read your question correctly, the answer you want to hear is that Islam sucks.

You try to provoke this answer by mentioning that the prophet Mohamed, peace be on him, could not read. Sorry, you don't know much about the origin of Islam. Do you need proof that Jesus Christ could read ? It is all about bringing the message of Allah across and that's what happened. Finally you sneer about women in Islam. Yes, women have a different role in Islam then men, but that doesn't make them less valuable once they arrive in paradise. In the end we are all the same.

sounds to me that what you just said is that the Qu'ran agrees with many previous works thought to be inspired By the God of Abrham. Those contradictions you mention are very likely taken out of context. 2+4=6 plus one day of rest +7 2 are major categories and 6 aere sub categories. I am not a Muslim and have not completed reading the Qu'ran, and this does not pose a problem for me. I sugest u read it b4 you become critical.

The ``days'' of creation represent a yardstick. Thus, the physical universe was created in two days, while the calculation of provisions for all the creatures on earth required four. This also teaches us that there is life only on this planet Earth.

Now there are millions of muslim even the four years old memorised the whole QURAN unlike any other book. That's how the Quran is preserved in ORIGINAL form via written record as well as by memorisation.
Worldly wife will be the head/leader of the maidens in paradise that is the minimum and much more, since the paradise is the place for eternal entertainment, what ever one wishes it will be fulfilled.
There are only two scared books to follow, first is the HOLY QURAN and the other is the SAYINGS OF PROPHET (PBUH).

Man or science and technology in their own limitations can’t answer this things/believes/struggle. Only thing left for the mankind is to find out from the ONLY ONE CREATOR that created everything that exists.
The thing is people don’t know what to follow. They follow something that haven’t said by prophets including Jesus (peace be upon him PBUH) himself. The solution to this is to do a research and find out the AUTHENCITY of the source or the books. It is not at all difficult in today’s world.
In Short: The ONLY PURE ORIGINAL WORD OF GOD is left on the phase of the planet is the HOLY QURAN that came with the prophet 1400 years ago without any SINGLE LETTER corrupted, that Guides, Faith with Proof, shows way of life, tells in details the mission of prophets including Jesus (peace be upon him PBUH), gives answers to all questions, solutions and tells much in details of what will be going to happen (past, present and future) and the purpose of existence, etc. The WORD OF GOD came with the SAME MESSAGE through prophets (from first prophet Adam to last prophet Mohammad (PBU them all) including Jesus (PBUH) and only person to interpret is the prophet of GOD at that time. Unlike HOLY QURAN all the other Books are corrupted and are not in the PURE ORIGINAL WORD OF GOD that’s is due to the handy work of Satan/Jinn/Devil and also human nature to follow their own desires rather than following the simple message of all the prophets that is to believe in ONLY ONE GOD in order to achieve the PURPOSE OF LIFE. In Muslim world there are many books available today in different languages of the ORIGINAL INTERPRETATION of the HOLY QURAN by the prophet of GOD about 1400 years ago that is the only interpretation that has to be follow to be the true follower of the prophet as commanded by GOD and the ONLY WAY to SUCCESS that is both in this WORLD and ETERNAL PARADISE.
