Christ certainly did not teach hatred. As mortgagegirl101 said, he taught us to hate the sin, love the sinner.
As for people who profess to follow Christ, we are NOT perfect. We will constantly be sinning or struggling with sin in some way or another. We can repent of our sin though, and be forgiven for it. That applies to believers who hate people because of their race. If a believer is battling with hatred they should be questioning their faith, no doubt about that...the Bible says that "If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen." (1 John 4:20)
If you know any believers who struggle with that, let me encourage you to bring it up with them. If they are true believers they will be convicted of their sin and repent, even if it takes a while.
If you are talking about gays and lesbians as others before me are talking of, God did NOT make a person a gay or a lesbian. Science even backs that up. Normally, a gay or lesbian struggles with that because of some major thing (i.e. a bad relationship with their dad, being sexually abused, etc.) that happened earlier in their lives. Sometimes they even go down that path simply because they like the sound of it.
However, no one is born that way. If God made someone to be born a gay or lesbian, it would go completely against His nature. He wouldn't profess homosexuality an abomination, then turn around and create someone gay. And if God went against His nature like that, do you really think true believers, (mainly believers in the early church and in foreign countries), would allow themselves to be martyred, tortured, physically and verbally abused, and through all that boldly continue to spread the gospel? Even history books teach on the persecutions believers faced during the time of Nero, and they never backed down or gave up.
In conclusion, I'd like to point out that you will see many people profess to follow Christ but never live like it. These people may think they are Christians, but most likely are not. Let me urge you to please not judge true believers by these people. I hope I have thoroughly answered your question. Forgive me if the answer is too long, it's just something that is very important to me.

There are some who profess to follow Christ and do show hatred, but that is not what Christ taught, and definitely not how God made us. We were made in the image of God, and because of the fall of man into sin, we are now not perfect.
Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
So you can see in these verses of the KJV, that Christ taught us to love others even those who persecute us, those we don't agree with, and those who hate us. There are a lot of people that profess to be who they are not and there are a lot of people who are genuinely trying. Only God can see the heart of man, we see only the outside.

God Bless You

Christ never taught hate but he did teach us to pick up our cross and follow Him.And He did teach us to say no to the flesh. In Matthew 18:15-17 He even instructed the church to judge. Many people today can't seem to comprehend any of this so they call it hate.

The white power whackjobs truly think Jesus was white, but they don't follow Jesus at all. (Like White Baptist said - "in all the paintings, Jesus is white." He's unaware that those are not self-portraits, I guess.) They follow the ideals set forth in Leviticus and other parts of the OT. Their theology has nothing to do with Jesus - instead they use the Bible and Jesus' name to hide behind and justify their hate.

Christ doesn't teach hatred, we are supposed to love one another, but we are weak and if we don't pray evil seeps in. If you hate, you are not really following Christ

Jesus taught love, you are correct.

He also taught tough love...
loving someone enough to tell them the truth about what God says in scriptures.

If you see a loved one doing something that will hurt them in the long run, wouldn't you tell them about it?

We have a racist on site claiming hes Christian, also a Christian that's was abusive to Atheists earlier. Some are ok like yourself though. Ive seen some terrible things on here that makes me want to react in anger, and turns people like myself against Christianity more.

Jesus taught love for god is love. we as Christians should not hate anyone but indifference does occur,we should not let other peoples differences give us an excuse/reason to hate them. treat others as you would have them treat you and love your neighbor as you love yourself.
