Lots of stuff in the Bible is forbidden yet you're not out there petitioning for laws to ban those behaviours.

Likewise, there's lots in the Bible that you would never consider acting out today.

So, please, stop with the Biblical excuses, and explain why you can't just be honest about your prejudice. The hypocrisy is so thick it's disgusting. It's also doing a real dis-service to all the Christians that are more attuned to Christ's actual message.

Scriptures say to you ( those who are christians, please no blasphemy)

2 Samuel 22:3
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,my shield, and the horn of my salvation,my stronghold and my refuge,my savior; you save me from violence.

Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

(can you find the comparison in the Bible to these scriptures and why they were written? Its pretty awesome!Of course both of these scriptures have something in common-)

It just seems to me everything Christians do offends someone. But when ppl do things that offend Christians they throw the freedom of speech as them. But Christians dont' seem to be allowed to have that freedom......just a thought

I know this church that says being left-handed is a psychological disorder. They insist on teaching those who show a tendency toward being left-handed undergo strict discipline to change. Is that their right?

OOPS! Did I say left-handed?

I meant homosexual.

I would really appreciate as much answers to this question as possible. Being a believer in God myself, I have seen proof that God exists. I would love to hear everyone's special experiences if they would like to share them with me.
I'll start with one of my many experiences... this one is kinda corny.
Once upon a time, a long time ago, I met a guy...
He has been special to me ever since I met him.
But I don't talk to him, we just met once through a friend, and that was it. I see him every now and then around my college campus, and all I can do is stare.
Anyways, one semester, I did not see him at all. I thought he dropped out, or just graduated. And I started to get sad. So I prayed to God one night, "God, please let me see this special guy tomorrow up close, close enough to make eye contact with him."
Hehehe... and guess what happened.
He was walking towards me the next day, right up my alley, and I got to make eye contact with him.
So yeah, your guy's turns! :)

but we would not be able to go to church in Saudi Arabia as they haven't got any, their policy is churches are not welcome.
If we visit other countries we usually respect their laws.

This is not meant to prove that God exists, for the majority are not always right. Nor is it meant to criticize those who do not believe, for they have the right to not believe.

Mostly, it is to note that most people in America are believers in the faith of their choice. Many of these people are reasonable, hard working, responsible, rational people.

There are some extremists, but do we need to stereo-type all good people due to the actions of a few people, who most disavow.

However, my question is, if the philosophical foundation of this Nation was framed by deists, who believed in a creator, are we losing our sense of nation as we depart from belief and religion? Western Civilization is highly based on the Judeo-Christian Ethic. Are we eroding our own nation by rejecting our culture and past?

Let's say we were able to conduct a Gallop poll in the abitrary year 1776. Would you say that the majority of Americans would claim these United States to be fundementally christian? Or do you honestly think all Americans at the time blindly followed the religious philosophy of Jefferson? Do you think the Founding fathers could have had any credibility with the masses if they weren't at least making an effort to found the country "Under God"? Do you think this motive has in any way influenced the American system of government?

In short I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of Americans from the get-go thought these United States to be a Christian society. Do you think that it's only been in the past 50 years that certain liberal interests have curbed this basic truth for there own purpose? Might there be a hidden agenda behind their selective view of history?
