It doesnt make sense to me , personaly i dont believe in eternal torment, thats why I dont go to church any more because they all
preach it to some extent. Even the worst sinner in the world would
not deserve that kind of punishment in my opinion. I am a universalist
christian.

What is the final step in refining GOLD? you fire it to a high heat and burn away the dross, then what is left is pure GOLD. In revelations the statement is made that "NONE WILL BE LOST",the bible states that "even though you make your seat in hell I (GOD) will be there. also it states,I (GOD) am closer to you than breathing. All these things were said to people at a particular time & circumstances in an effort to communicate with humanity on a level they understand.. Bottom line,"GOD DWELLS WITHIN YOU AS YOU", Have no fear of hell,LOVE GOD.

God is organic and suitable with out sin. He represents each little thing it quite is sturdy and first rate. people who do in comparison to morals, regulations, holiness will revolt against god, such as you're doing now the place else do you assume God to place you in case you reject him. The soul is eternal, and there is largely 2 places it may flow after dying, with God or to hell. in case you do in comparison to God and what he represents ,why could he enable you into heaven? the only reason you're alive is by using his mercy, he can kill you as a non believer so which you will flow to hell, instead he lets you spit on his face till sooner or later you awaken and say " i'm a sinner". and wager what, he will forgive you. would not look like the variety of God you describe him to be now does it.

You do know that God is balanced by his LOVE, MERCY, JUSTICE, GRACE, and WRATH. He is a perfect God- and he is sinless, he does not allow sin into heaven- so he had to make a way for us to be with him for eternity- by dying on the cross for us- He became a man, Jesus, And suffered our punishment by dying a painful death on the cross so that we could LIVE, and he rose again 3 days later just as it has been foretold of long ago! He defeated death and NOBODY can do that- Those who do not believe will be eternally separated from God- and yes it is Hell. God is not a mean God, he is JUST God. If you were a judge here on earth and someone who committed a crime came before you and you were going to tell him his sentence, but he said "Well cant you just forgive me?" Would you? NO! That is not how our justice system works either- Everyone has to pay the price- BUT by putting your faith in Christ and following him, you have been forgiven and set free because HE PAID THE PRICE for you! Its like that criminal who stood before the judge, and someone stepped in and said "I'll take his punishment and he can go free" --WOW what an awesome thing Jesus did for us. We have all sinned, we were born into sin and we all fall short ( Romans 3)

But God demonstrated his own love, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us -Romans 5:8

Those that reject Him, will be eternally separated from him-

Revelation 20:15
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

--God cannot allow sin into heaven because he is PURE and HOLY. His wrath is HOLY and his Anger is Righteous- and some cannot understand that, but HE alone is God and is going to judge each one of us. But look to the CROSS! Look at what HE did for you, so that you would not have to go to hell! Believe on what he did on the cross, and you will be saved~

John 5:24
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

--This is God's way-- and I cannot think of anything BETTER- but to know I dont deserve heaven! And yet he has chosen me~ Praise Be to Him!

Surely if God is righteous and altogether just he will bless the good and punish the bad. But how does God punish the incorrigibly wicked? The Bible plainly tells us that "the wages sin pays is death," and death is the absence of life. You know that one would have to be alive and conscious of pain to suffer in a fiery hell. Contrariwise, the Bible says that those who do not believe the Son will "be destroyed," be wiped out of existence, annihilated.-Rom. 6:23; John 3:16.

Do you recall how God warned Adam that if he ate of the forbidden fruit he would die? No, God did not say he would be tormented. So upon his eating of that fruit Adam was sentenced, not to eternal torment, but to death: "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground . . . For dust you are and to dust you will return." This Adam did at the end of 930 years.-Gen. 2:16, 17; 3:19; 5:5.

You know that "God is love." The Bible says so. (1 John 4:8) It also states that God is merciful and delights in loving-kindness. (Mic. 7:18, 19) To punish persons forever in eternal torment is neither loving nor merciful, is it? Furthermore, the Bible tells us that God is perfect in justice. (Deut. 32:4) To torture a person for all eternity for having failed to get onto the narrow road that leads to life would not be justice. (Matt. 7:13, 14) Why, imperfect men make laws forbidding cruel and unusual punishments, even to animals. Are they more just than God? If your church teaches eternal torment, ask your clergyman this question, and see what he says.

So what do you deserve? Job thought he was a good guy despite all the terrible things that happened to him. And God put him in his place. Go ahead and play the "If God is so loving" game, sin is an abomination to the Lord, and you and I are both sinners and we deserve nothing and God is still in charge. Good thing He sent His Son to die for us and take that sin upon Himself, huh?

God is completly righteous and Holy. Heaven isn't for the people who have done "good". It's for the people who have accepted Jesus Christ as the Savior. Everyone is given the opportunity to reject or accept God. It says in the Bible He doesn't want anyone to go to hell, but they do have to believe in Jesus in order to go to Heaven.

God is so awesome that He gave us a free choice to worship Him. He didn't have to do that. He could've made us all robots, butinstead He wanted us to choose between His way and our own way. It is sad that people go to hell. The Bible says the road of the righteous is very narrow. Meaning not many people choose to follow, but it's their own choice.

If you refuse to trust in God b/c of other people going to hell or b/c you think all Christians are hypocrits, there's only one thing I have to say to you... DOn't worry, none of those people will be there in front of you when you die and face the thrown of God. It will just be you and Him, and either a bunch of excuses or a solid foundation in Christ which determines where you will be spend eternity.

Jay, You are right when you say that God is loving, yet this is where your insight about the Lord God begins and ends. You see Jay, God does not send any one to hell. God is Holy. He do not have any sin in him nor can he allow sin to enter into heaven . Therefore since God is a loving God, he provided a way for all mankind to be redeemed and this way that the Lord provided is through Jesus Christ. Sin and death came through the one man Adam, and this caused all of mankind born on earth thereafter to be sinners. Nothing less than God could save mankind nor could mankind be redeemed but only through the work of the All Mighty God. Enters Jesus, (Romans chapter 5 verses 6 through 8; You see at just the right time when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners Christ died for us. The Bible also states in the first epistle of John chapter 5, verses 9 through 12; we accept man's testimony but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has make him out to be a liar, Because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. All of mankind are sinners in God's eyesight. Romans chapter 3 verses 10 through12, say There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks for God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless, there is no one who does good, not even one. Romans chapter 3 verse 23 reads; For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It also states in Romans chapter 6 and verse 23; For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. So, Jay can you see that all of mankind are sinners in need of a Savior in which God provided through confession in Christ Jesus and in recieving God's gift you gain eternal life and are now a child of God. Now about eternity in Hell, you see if you dont wont to go along with the program that God has set up for us in Jesus then the only other choice that remains is Hell, that has been set up for Satan and the fallen angels, and for all that reject the plan of salvation which God offers to all freely. You see sin has to be punished and it cannot go unpunished. So if a person refuses to accept the free gift of eternal life offered through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ , there is then the only other choice of a eternal torment in the Lake of fire the second death, Revelation chapter 20 verse 14. Jay, I understand that you have the desire for all people to not be punished but you've got to see it God's way, why would a person that dont agree with what is just and good want to be spared of the just and deserved punishment of ones transgressions and daily sins? Since God is the creator of mankind, then it is he (God) that makes the choices that we have to choose from. It's either God's way or the Hell way. So, if a person rejects they've claimed their destiny. Therefore that person should get ready, and get set cause this earth is the only Heaven that they'll ever get. In conclusion if a person rejects the free gift of God, that person is therefore chosen Hell and allows or better yet chooses their own eternal suffering and torment.

God doesn't want us to suffer in an eternal hell, that's why Jesus came down, so all who believe would be saved. But those who reject that free gift have chosen their own fate. God reached out His hand and we need to grab onto it!
