Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

I understand the point M. Voltaire was trying to make, but I honestly do not agree with the quote taken at face value. I do not believe a god is necessary. I feel fully able to live as an adult, facing reality with my head held high. And if there is no afterlife, no posthumous punishment for the wicked, then I don't throw my hands up and shout, "There is no JUSTICE!" Instead, I set my mind to finding ways to strengthen human justice, the only real justice that exists, so fewer guilty persons will go unpunished right here on earth.

I think that the quote is easier to understand if you don't believe in God.

I think that the quote means that if there wasn't a God, you would have to create one, simply because majority of people have to have answers. People have to have something to believe in, a reason for living, a reason the sky is blue and the grass is green.

People need to know how and what put us on this planet in order to maintain sanity. So, if there isn't a God, then people would create one just to be able to have an answer for their questions in life.

The problem with this quote is that the writer had no clue who God is. Existence of God is not a matter of convenience, it is a matter of our very existence. Life exists because of God.
The intelligence in life forms is created by the God particle. However, this particles is so minute that there is no scientific method, and there will never be one, by which we can discover it. The only way we can find this God is in our mind.
One part of this particle has created all matter in the universe, and other part of the same particle is what creates intelligence in life forms. Our very mind depends on this particle to function.

If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him.-Voltaire

He was saying that some people just will not ever accept the fact that there is a clear case for god not existing. Their view of everything that there is seems incomplete without him and his creation is therefore needed, even though since he might not exist, he isn't needed.

...Not worth discussing - this is an impossible, irrelevant, and illogical question. God is not bound by time/space/matter, and has always existed. He is infinite, holy, perfect, and righteous in all His ways. Mankind is finite and controls very little.
...It matters not who said your quote - if I had said I would want it to be forgotten. It reminds of another quote: "Better to keep silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Somebody said the opposite, if God did exist, we'd have to abolish him.

I loved seeing it displayed in my favorite movie Easy Rider. Also it was spoken by Voltaire.
