I'm sure this is not the first time this has come up, but Christians, don't you realize that it's the *approach* of spreading your word that people find the most repulsive? If I meet John Doe, observe that he is kind, content, at peace, and strives to be and do good, and I find out somehow he is a Christian, this would attract me. When John Doe is no better than I am (or worse) and then tries to tell me I'm going to Hell and he isn't, well, who's going to go for that?

as for me I read the Word but evidence shows not everyone does that, so if you don't read the Word (study to show yourself approved) how do you know that when you repeat what was said you are not just blowing smoke

since God was just above the clouds over earth, everything had to orbit Earth. Then came my friend Galileo, he said that in fact, everythind orbited THE sun and not the Earth, of course the Christians treated him and his "unproven" idea liek they do with evolution. So conclusion.... who are Christians to say if evolution is a fact?

Let's say your grandmother dies and you have no doubt that if there is a heaven, she is there. Can she look down and see what you are doing on Earth? If you do something wrong (this can be anything, i.e. watching porn, doing drugs, killing people, etc.), does she look down and get disappointed? Does she care, since she was here and probably made mistakes herself? Can she see what is going on? Can she look back to before she died to see what you did then?

I'm not sure if there is anything that addresses this issue. It was just a thought I had.

**Yes, I watch porn. Yes, I've done drugs. No I haven't killed anyone...

This question may be offensive to some, however it is historically accurate. That's not the point anyways...just wanted to warn you. This is about one particular answer.....

One answer stood out among the rest for being close-minded, biggoted, rude and contradictory to being here.

"I don't appreciate it when people use this site to proselytize for whatever weird belief they subsribe to."

Um...excuse me, but who died and made this person god of yahoo answers? Who decides what is a weird belief and what is acceptable? Why would someone like that even be here if not to bash others?

"How can any man be just in God’s sight, or how can any woman’s child be innocent?" (Job 25:4 NAB)

What can a child be guilty of? If your answer is 'original sin', then I say to you that you are guilty of stealing my lawn flamingoes last year.
And is it anywhere near possible, truly, that no man is just?

The first mention of the concept of Original Sin is found, not in Genesis, where the fatal event was supposed to happen, but in the fifth chapter of Romans, written by Paul. According to Paul, humanity was cursed because Adam sinned when he ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. As Paul puts it:

Romans 5:12
12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (KJV)

1 Corinthians 15:22
22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (KJV)

Romans 5:17-19
17For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life.
19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinner

this may be a stupid question, but i've heard that alot of protestant religions believe that catholics aren't christians. The reason i said attn non catholics and protestants is b/c i'm catholic, and i consider myself a christian, so i was hoping for an outsiders point of view. opinions anyone?? if you are protestant or any other religion, do you think catholics are christians?

"The vestiges of pagan religion in Christian symbology are undeniable. Egyptian sun disks became the halos of Catholic saints. Pictograms of Isis nursing her miraculously conceived son Horus became the blueprint for our modern images of the Virgin Mary nursing Baby Jesus. And virtually all the elements of the Catholic ritual - the miter, the altar, the doxology, and communion, the act of "God-eating" - were taken directly from earlier pagan mystery religions."

"Nothing in Christianity is original. The pre-Christian God Mithras - called the Son of God and the Light of the World - was born on December 25, died was buried in a rock tomb, and then resurrected in three days. By the way, December 25 is also the birthday or Osiris, Adonis, and Dionysus. The newborn Krishna was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Even Christianity's weekly holy day was stolen from the pagans."
