I go with science all the way. Of course if they have the ability to clone their is definitely evolution dude.

Evolution is fact when compared against every living organism being the same today as it was millions of years ago - Fossils can prove this. Often the reason why people describe it as a theory or religion is because there is no proof from where the original living organism came from or what created it and what created the precursor to that and so and so on. I think it is best to accept that the very first concept of matter or things 'being there' is impossible to conceive however once it happened evolution has shaped the development of how we see things today.

First, the word 'theory' is applied to any scientific idea that has been tested and cannot be disproven and is then generally accepted as fact. That's just how science works. Remember...*gravity* is also just a theory but nobody has an issue accepting that one. That said, I've never found a reason why evolution and intelligent design (or creationism - choose your label) can't coexist. I really think these ideas only serve to reinforce each other...if you can abandon the idea that the universe was made in seven days. Please allow me a moment to expound on that last item: the Hebrew word in the book of Genesis that is translated to 'day' also means 'period of time' depending on the context. Genesis doesn't give us a time frame, only an order in which things happened. If you can accept that it really did take the universe 13.5 billion years to get where it is, there is no reason to discount that a greater power had an active hand in the development of life.

Creationists and other people who feel threatened by the Theory of Evolution are spreading the propaganda that "it is only a theory, not a fact". But this is truly disinformation. The word Theory as used in Science is close in meaning to the word Theorem (i.e. "proved"). Consider these other Theories:
The Theory of Gravity & Motion by Issac Newton
The Theory of Electromagetism by James Maxwell
The Theory of Relativity by Albert Einstein
The Theory of Evolution is not just Darwin's original ideas from the Origin of the Species. Darwin's original ideas were ground breaking and set the foundation for the modern theory, but there have been many great refinements. Darwin didn't even know about Mendel's work on genetics, let alone Watson & Crick's discovery of DNA.
None of the above theories are completely "proved" in a mathematical sense. But ALL of them are considered to be robust and accurate, and all of the controversy and research in these fields is out on the fringes, not at the center of the theories.

Until recently I would have said that many people don't want to believe in evolution because it is against their religion. But I'm starting to think that the real reason people don't want to believe in evolution is narcissism - they don't want to be descended from 'monkeys' or bacteria. Because there should be no conflict between religion and evolution.
The problem is that fundamentalist christianity teaches people when young that they are so special - the 'highest' life form, created separately. And that the world is only 6000 years old. When they hear about evolution and that the world is 4.5 billion years old, the infinite universe 14 billion years old, it is too much for many to take in. They don't want to. They shut down. Hence they never understand evolution (or any of the other science - proven or speculation - that they lump in as one whole: 'evolution'). It is obvious from everything that the 'anti-evolutionists' above me have written that not one of them has made an honest attempt to understand the science of evolution.
They circulate urban-myths, selected controversies (eg. inflated accounts of 2 fake fossils uncovered by scientists out of the 250,000 known fossil species), misinformation about what evolution actually says, atrocious quoute-mines (a form of lying) and pseudo-scientific sounding 'debunkments' of 'evolution' among themselves. This comforts them. And from their paradigm - their world view - evolution seems like an impossibilty. Pfew!!
And like my narcissistic ex, they even deny and project their weaknesses on to others - "it's evolution that is the religion - the fairy tale", pfew!!
In reality though, evolution is a fact, yes. In fact, evolution itself has been copiously observed, both microevolution and the 'macroevolution' that creationists magically separate. The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is the scientific theory (supported by copious evidence and is as proved as a scientific theory can be) pertaining only to the mechanisms behind evolution.
It is whole-heartedly supported by 99.9% (link) of scientists in the relevant fields (a few don't, based solely on not wanting to - there is NO real evidence against it).

It's the closest most logical scientific explanation we have. The Religious one seems vague and magical. We as humans want and need something that is apparently hard fact. People are tired of being dictated information that cannot be proved. I'm not discounting the possibility of some intelligent design in the mix either. Many cannot conceptualize we came from some puddle of goo. The theory of evolution makes most sense and some people as I said don't want to feel opressed by some mysterious entity or power.

evolution is not a fact science requires the duplication of a scientific theory as proof for it to be fact it is the best theory scientists have to date so thats what they use. the only things scientists cant come up with even half an answer for is the origin of dna which all living things have and is too complex to have happened on accident. They also cant explain what the first organism would have eaten to survive or what the need for evolution would have been for the first single celled organism even if one was self reproducing it wouldnt have had a need to evolve if it survived on the inorganic substances that would have been around

If you paid attention in school, you'd know that it's called "The THEORY of evolution".
There is peicemeal evidence that supports the theory. However, in order for a scientific theory to be seen as a law, it must be able to be recreated. Hence the "law of gravity" it can be observed and recreated. The only thing the theory of evolution has going for it is that some evolution has been observed. That is, if you call piecing bones together and coming up with ideas of how the "old animals" look, evidence. You can't recreate millions of years of evolutionary theory in any lifetime. Evolution will be a theory for many generations to come, so will creationism.

Probably because that is what opponents of evolution want you to believe...that it is a theory. And the truth is parts of evolution still are...theory, but much of it has been proven...time and time again. The real problem is that the religious want to say evolution isn't true because they want to know how life first began, but that's not evolution...that's abiogenisis. Evolution simply shows the progression of organisms and it is a fact.

There are facts found in the diggings that scientists theorized that those could have been the missing links to our present lives. They are just theories and those facts can be subjected to many other more diggings that may change or support the previous findings.
Like the Christian religions or any other religions for that matter, lives to be believable because of written manuscripts, articles and experiences of many who believe they have seen miracles and by many churches, temples and priests supporting it. Yet it may take another Great Revelation someday that it may disprove all these beliefs or may make it more believable. Different Understanding of Truth exists for every generation and only the earth stands as the main witness to everything that happens just as the earth have been the treasure throves of many great histories.
. "Generation comes and generation goes but the earth remains the same." Ecclesiastes

evolution is a theory. when u think about what religion really is, it isnt sumthing just thought up by some random person that thinks they are smart enough to figure out the reason we r all here on this planet. as for having it be a fact, thats just retarded. thats like sum drunken bum coming up to u and telling u that we came from 2 rocks, and then having u think up some kind of proof.not only that, if we evolve from some primative creature, why arent there any primitive creatures around? why arent more people evolving? As for religion, most of it is based off the exact same book.... the bible. religion is just what we think the bible really means.
As for me, im a christian.
I hope all this mumbo jumbo helps u out dood. =)
