Money is not the root of all evil. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
Job is an excellent book. God gave him many riches, took them away and then gave them back. Anything about David and Solomon, they were VERY rich. I don't know where the Bible advocates poverty.
Luke 12:32, "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Fathers great pleasure to give you the kingdom."
Matthew 21:22, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

The book of Job. He lost everything, but kept the faith, and was greatly rewarded.
There are many great examples of how God blessed those who didnt ask for riches but gave freely. You should have an index in the back where you can look up key words. Riches, money, greed, etc.

If your reason for wanting wealth is for selfish reasons, you can forget it. God only prospers the righteous and not always with money.

If you becoming rich brings glory to God, He is in favor of it. If you becoming rich means new yachts, mansions and parties for your own glory...then God isn't in favor of it.
