Do you really believe that the christian bible we read today is inspired by god and not a corruption?
Considering that The Book has a history of 6.000+ years, many times in the hands of sinners, ingnorants and simply bad "luck" (some bad weather and so) i can say:
Even if the Bible was inspired by God, the version we read today IT'S NO T HOLY, BY ANY MEANS!

Just consider that in this time many things happened; to summarize a few:
BEFORE CHRIST: Jews were taken captive by babilonian, egyiptians, romans...
EARLY CHRISTIANS: Christians were outlawed, divided, rejoined, divided again, ecumenical councils try to fix the mess (full of holy men, yeah, but in an open forum in the middle ages with no written records; mistakes happen)
MIDDLE AGES: Translations are made from languages poorly known, from degradated manuscripts, by not so clever/not so literate people; reform; couter-reform...
MODERNiTY: Many interests in conflict, mostly echonomical; translations to poorly formed languages

According to Catholic DOCTRINE -- not according to the personal opinions of Catholic practitioners -- do Jews automatically go to hell? I seem to remember that Vatican II changed the church stance on that, but I'm not sure. Sources would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Please understand, I am not talking about tolerance for an individual’s right to freely practice their religion. I am also not implying that anyone one should disrespect any individual. I am talking about Christians saying they have great respect for religions that contradict what Christ has said. For He said, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mk 16:15-16) He also asked, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

If we believe Christ is who He said He is, and that He is the only way to eternal life, why would we preach tolerance for religions that deceptively lead people away from Christ?

Do we believe what Christ has said….or do we believe something else?

The black stone is like the bricks and cement that make up the Kaaba. It is not holy at all and is not worshiped in any shape or form. The black stone is nothing but a Heavenly object (an asteroid) that GOD Almighty descended on earth to determine the exact location of where His House was going to be built by Abraham and his son Ishmael, peace be upon them.

While Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him kissed the stone before, because it was chosen by Allah Almighty to descend on earth to determine the location of the Kaaba, but that still doesn't make it anything holy.

It certainly makes it a remarkable and noticeable object that is worth visiting and seeing, but anyone who worships it is an idol worshiper! And like I said above, those ignorant and illiterate from the Muslims who go as far as rubbing themselves against the Kaaba and/or the stone to get "blessings" are not representing Islam's True picture at all.

Not only that but, if it is legal for a woman to decide what to do about KILLING a baby then how come the man who helped make that same baby not legally have a say in it? Well, im sure im going to get alot of people who does NOT agree with me here but i don't care. This is my opinion and im sticking to it.

Moses brings us a stone tablet that amongst other things says," I am the Lord your God and you shall not have any other gods before me." The Prophet Mohammed says ,"There is no God but Allah." Besides the inanimate idols that we puny humans worship such as money and speedboats and such, are there some metaphysical beings out there claiming deity status? M & M seem to indicate that there are.

Just curious. If you're Wiccan, which tradition? Personally, I'm Pagan, and call myself a Witch for lack of a better word. I've followed my own path for quite a few years and wonder where other people are on their road.

In order for free will to really be free will, God couldn't know what we were going to do. Since he does know, free will really makes no sense. How can we have choice if what we're going to do is already known. There is no free will and God is a myth.

I was talking my to my very relgious aunt on the phone. She was boasting about how much money she made in the stock market. My cat needed an expensive operation, and I was $300 short. I asked for a loan, saying I would pay her back $350. She said no, but that she would pray for my cat. It died. Thanks, Christian aunt.

Ishaq:184 “Umm (Hani), Abu Talib's daughter, said: “The Apostle went on no journey except while he was in my house. He slept in my home that night after he prayed the final night prayer. A little before dawn he woke us, saying, ‘O Umm, I went to Jerusalem.' He got up to go out and I grabbed hold of his robe and laid bare his belly. I pleaded, ‘O Muhammad, don't tell the people about this for they will know you are lying and will mock you.' He said, ‘By Allah, I will tell them.' I told my negress slave, ‘Follow him and listen.'”
Muhammad passionately fell in love with his first cousin-sister, Umm Hani bt Abu Talib, but for some unknown reason his beloved uncle, Abu Talib did not give her hand to Muhammad when Muhammad requested. Instead, she was married to a pagan, Hubayrah. But Muhammad’s adulterous relation with Umm Hani (real name Fakitah, also known as Hind) continued. He used to sleep in her house, when no one was around. Such an incidence took place when Muhammad returned from his failed mission at Taif, after the deaths of his first wife, Khadijah and his uncle Abu Talib. Returning from Taif, he took shelter in Ka’ba. But at nightfall, when all were asleep, he stealthily went to Umm Hani’s house and spent the night with her. When the people did not find him at Ka’ba, they went looking for him and when he was discovered in the house of Umm Hani, he was embarrassed, so was Umm Hani. To hide the truth, he concocted the story of his night journey to Jerusalem and Paradise from Umm Hani’s house (more precisely, from her bed), which many converted Muslims found too incredible to believe and left Islam. This made him sad and withdrawn. Soon, after such an adulterous affair was leaked out, he left Mecca and settled in Medina . But his undying love for Umm Hani remained aflame.
Later, when Muhammad became militarily strong and conquered Mecca , he went to Umm Hani’s house and stayed there overnight, praying and chit-chatting with her. Hubayrah, Umm Hani’s husband had foreseen the fall of Mecca and had fled to Najran. So, Umm Hani was living in her house, separated from her pagan husband, and Muhammad was there comforting her, in open transgression of the Qur’anic code.
Does it make sense why he concocted the unbelievable fable of his journey to "heaven" in the morning ?
