I was talking my to my very relgious aunt on the phone. She was boasting about how much money she made in the stock market. My cat needed an expensive operation, and I was $300 short. I asked for a loan, saying I would pay her back $350. She said no, but that she would pray for my cat. It died. Thanks, Christian aunt.

Well, I would leave religion out of it. What I would do is ask her the same question. I bet you get the right answer.
My guess, is because its a cat. Most people will put down an animal if it needs surgery. Up untill about 15-20 years ago it was almost unheard of pets having surgery. So Im guessing that your aunt is from that generation that does not opperate on animals. She remembers the good times with the animal and puts them down. Thats my 2c.

What does it have to do with Christianity? It is her own personality. I am an atheist, but I know what is "Christian behaviour" and what is just individual personality, and your aunt is just... like that.

Once again - free will and personal choices. My teenage daughter is constantly asking me for money - all for good reason. I do not give her money all the time and I believe in God. I'm teaching my daughter to give 10% of her weekly income to charity & to the needy.
