Should NOT be legal. God gave us a gift who are we to take that gift away? Not only that but, if it is legal for a woman to decide what to do about KILLING a baby then how come the man who helped make that same baby not legally have a say in it? Well, im sure im going to get alot of people who does NOT agree with me here but i don't care. This is my opinion and im sticking to it.

Your opinion also happens to be God's opinion. So don't worry if you are in the minority! :)

It is written, “…you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb…When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.”

“The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.”

And again, it is written, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you are bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”

Well, as far as God is concerned, if you read the Bible... he didn't care too much about newborns.... World Wide Flood, no one survived by Noah?????? Sodom and Gamorrah (you can't tell me there weren't children there)... There are other places in the bible, such as in Exodus where he tells some of his followers to Rip open the wombs of the mothers... to bash the childrens heads against the rocks.... etc.... etc...

And do you realize that most of the abortions performed are because the man left??????????????????? That's why he doesn't have a say in it... cause he's not around to have a say in it.

Personally, I wouldn't have an abortion. I find it sickening that some women use it as a form of birth control, which, to me anyway, shows a lack of Self-Respect. They obviously don't respect themselves enough to take care of their bodies and prevent that sort of thing from happening. BUT, I also do not know ALL of the situations... I am not any of those women... It IS Legal... not much to do except Vote against it if you don't like it. I wouldn't assume to know what is going on in each case. That would be very arrogant of anyone to try to say "I know what you are thinking, I know Exactly how you feel, I know YOU" No, You don't know those people and can't possibly understand till you are in the same situation. And not just thinking it... actually have to be THERE. The world is a different place when you have to actually go thru the situation and not just imagine going thru it.

First of all, it is entirely possible for someone to be both pro-choice and pro-life.

I'm amazed you aren't dizzy from the circle your arguement goes in. Ask a woman who's pregnancy is the result of a rape just how great a gift that fetus is. The government as a whole doesn't even agree with the church on this one (at least not publicly). If they did, they would grant tax breaks at the moment of conception, not when the kid is born.

The only sensible point you make in the whole arguement is about a man's rights about the pregnancy. The man should have a say in the outcome of the pregnancy, but no more than that. Given that biologically and emotionally the woman is the one doing the work here, she should have final say on what happens with her body.

When you strip away all the moralistic crap and propaganda from the arguement, abortion is nothing more than an elective medical procedure that women can have performed. A fetus is only a child at the point when it can live on its own, without need of the womb, or extravagant medical care.

If you're AGAINST abortion, the power to choose not to have one performed is yours. Do everyone else (at least those who value the free will that you believe your creator gave us) a favor, and shut up about it.

First the easy part. As to why the man cannot decide, that's simple: He's not the one carrying it.
The first part of your question is not as easy. Since you mention God, I'll assume you're coming from a Christian viewpoint. For you, it's wrong. You believe that a fetus has a soul from the moment it's conceived and that killing the fetus is killing a human being with a soul and a destiny that your god gave it.
Now comes a few questions. Most fertilized eggs are aborted spontaneously. I don't remember the exact percentage, but it's high. Question #1. If your God wished all fertilized eggs to become babies and be born, why are so many spontaneously aborted? Most happen before the woman knows she's pregnant.
Question #2. Many people believe that a fertilized egg is a "potential" life, but that "Human" life is achieved somewhere further along in the pregnancy. What right do you have to impose your belief about this upon those who believe differently?
Question #3. Yours is one religion among many. Some religions have a very different view of the world. Why should yours prevail over others?
Question #4. If your god (assumption again) as the the Bible says, is omniscient, why would he place a soul in a fetus that He knows is going to be aborted? And as an addition to question #1 does every fertilized egg, even those spontaneously aborted hours after fertilization, have a soul as well? Will all of these potential people have a body and name in heaven?
I'm not trying to change your mind. I'm just showing that your belief that abortion is always wrong for everyone can be shown to be only one viewpoint among many.
Surely, stand by your convictions for your own life. It's when people try to impose their belief on EVERYONE that tempers start to flare. You're part of a world inhabited by many. Just remember that.

First, for both the fors and against, a little lesson. The Bible says that the Soul is the blood, which is the second thing to develop, right after the heart.

As for preventing a woman, any woman, from committing this sin, even when it involves the life of their child, that is between them and God, just as it was before the great flood, and at Sodom and Gomorrah.

Christ did not say to stop people from sinning, merely to teach them about God and his only begotten Son.

The governments of man will decide on their own what is right or not right for them, but God said that he intends to destroy all the governments of the World (which means people, not planet). Christians were told to turn their backs on the old system. Turning back to the old system, wanting to be involved in it, means that when the destruction comes, you will be caught up in it. At the minimum, remember what happened to Lot's Wife when she couldn't bring herself to turn away from the old.

If anyone ever took the time to actually research what it takes to actually concieve, you WILL realize that every child is a miracle. The process just to get the egg fertalized is a battle. Then, the fertalized egg has still a 50% chance of not even making it. When a sperm enters an egg, yes it is still just one cell, but it is the making of a child. That baby didn't ask to be made, or make you concieve him/her. You are robbing someone of thier life when you abort a child. That is a future teacher who could have touched the lives of many, but you didn't care. He/she could have made a difference in many peoples lives, but you robbed them of that if you abort a child. I dont cae about fetus stages and embryos..when that sperm makes its journey, and actually fertalizes an egg, that cell deserves to be born as a child.

We have the right to decide because we are the only ones that can decide. Who else is going to do it? God? I haven't seen any evidence that any god is for, against, or pro-life when it comes to abortion.

You are welcome to your opinion. Mine is the opinion of choice. Abortion is legal whether you like it or not and a valid choice for some to make if needed. They also have the choice to keep the child or give it up for adoption.

I would never presume to tell anyone how to run their lives or what choices they should make. As for the man having a choice, one - if he is a rapist that pretty much takes any rights out, two until men can give up their body for nine months and go through a pregnancy the choice is not theirs to make.

I understand your point, but since I'm not forced to believe in god, to begin with, you either show me how abortion is wrong WITHOUT sticking your god in it, or else leave me alone. Imposing a law in the name of exclusively religious principles is against the freedom of religion we all have. After all, nobody's forcing you to do anything.

But why should I bother to answer, if you've decided you're 'sticking to it'?

Embryo/Fetus

- It is life in the earliest stage of human existence
- Human DNA unique from its parents. (read; independent)

And although the very young human needs its mother to survive, it is not a part of her.

Its not my business if my neighbor neglects, abuses, or kills her kid either. Its not my body, I have no business having an opinion. Right?

Would You Consider Abortion in These Four Situations?
1. There is a preacher and wife who are very, very poor. They already have 14 children. Now she finds out she is pregnant with her 15th. They are living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending abortion?
2. The father is sick with sniffles and the mother has TB. They have 4 children. The first is blind, and the second is dead. The third is deaf and the fourth has TB. The mother finds she is pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you recommend abortion?
3. A man raped a 13-year-old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?
4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She is not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he is very upset. Would you recommend an abortion?
If you have answered, “yes” to any of these situations:
In the first case you would have killed John Wesley, one of the great evangelists of the 19th century.
In the second case, you would have killed Beethoven.
In the third case you would have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer.
In the fourth case you would have recommended the killing of Jesus Christ.

Thou shalt not kill. Exodus 20:13 KJV HOLY BIBLE

U.S. Abortion Deaths Compared to U.S. War Deaths
U.S. War Deaths from Revolutionary War through “War on Terror” is less than 2 million.
U.S. Abortion Deaths from 1973 through 2006 is more than 45,864,435 in 33 years.

Dear Ones,
If you have killed an unborn child(ren), you have transgressed the law. If you have helped a woman to kill the unborn child(ren), you have transgressed the law. The “morning after” pill kills an unborn child if after conception (the moment that life begins) the pregnancy is disrupted causing an abortion of life to take place. Transgressing the law is called sin.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 KJV HOLY BIBLE

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 KJV HOLY BIBLE

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1st John 1:9 KJV HOLY BIBLE

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John 3:16-21 KJV HOLY BIBLE
