thinking about his first miracle, turning water into wine. Surely he should have been doing something that would benefit humanity and set a good example, not getting the party started. especially for his first miracle (correct me if I'm wrong there)

Humans eat shrimp today its safe. Why wouldn't God just give the Hebrews the plans for refridgeration, or fryars to fry the shrimp? Didn't God give plans on how to build the Temple of Solomon.

Shouldn't be that hard should it?

like for instance, feeding the 5000 people, could you put that down to 'Chinese Whispers'?

raising Lazarus - maybe he wasn't really dead

healing the sick - the same methods 'faith healers' use today

We're talking about a time when people were truly superstitious and, to be blunt, were a bunch of illiterate peasants. It seems that they could easily be tricked by someone with great charisma.

..I consider myself an intellectual. Yet, it is not like God's picture is on page 4 of the Bible. So, how do you define God? Someone once said, "SOURCE OF POSITIVE ENERGY"...how do you describe THE ONE who we have never seen?

I cant see a provable audit trial. Any referance to the bible book would be like referring to a novel for the proof - which of course being just topical stories/fables written by unknowns, the bible wouldnt be enough to proceed with ?.

For example, I notice here in the KJV in Leviticus 18:22 that it says that a man with another man sexually is considered an 'abomination'. What does that mean exactly? I read in Leviticus 11:9-12 that eating shrimp is an 'abomination'. Why is it an abomination to eat shrimp? I see lots of people at Long John Silver and Red Lobster eating shrimp. It seems to me there should be a nationwide boycott by Christians and even an amendment to the US Constitution banning the sale of shrimp, since it is an abomination to the Christian God.

Why are some not all Christians only interested in the ban of gay marriages but not the ban of shrimp in America? Won't God be mad that so many people are committing the abomination of eating shrimp?

Ok. Most of you criticize a religion and its laws, mostly unjustly interpretated and enforced, and attack the guy holding the book. WELL, I have a general question.
God, as qouted in the bible, is the source of 'good'. It says that all that beleive in Him, will live in that place He is that is full of goodness and happiness. WHAT happens when he removes Himself completely from where you are. A total lack of anything that can be considered good. A smile, a cool drink, friendship, etc... Can this be called Hell? (see book for lots of descriptions, they seem to fit) Can I conclude that Hell is a total lack of the presence of God? If so, is it His fault when God says to me 'I am going over there, come with if you choose to", and I linger around too long and am stuck, left behind....[puhleeze do not bring up those books :) ]. You see, I do not disagree with all of you who beleive religion is bad. Because religion (look the word up) was/is enforced by alot of bad people. Research is key

Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die? No, then if it is SO life isn't life. For me my life doesn't even begin yet until I die or transformed.
1 Corinthians 15:19 says: If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Let's turn away from sins and live for Christ because you don't to die a second time(burn for eternity), do you? Do you what it's like to get burnt?
