I can believe much easier in the existence of life on other planets, be it an amoeba or a walking, talking, humanoid form like us, or any other walking, talking form than I can in a "God" who went through all the trouble to create the universe but never bothered to put life anywhere other than on our little insignificant planet.. How egotistical of us to think that we are the only life forms in the universe when there are literally billions of galaxies, each consisting of billions of stars, many of which have planets orbiting them - that number has to be in the quadrillions. (Yes, there is such a number!) The law of averages should tell anyone with half a brain that there is life out there - the universe is literally teeming with it. Whether we will ever come into contact with it, is an entirely different matter. And I would hope that if there is life out there similar to us, that it is more intelligent than we are since as a species we aren't all that bright. Any species that persists in destroying itself through warfare can't be all that intelligent so let's hope those other life forms have long ago eliminated warfare. And, if they are only bacteria or amoebas, once they evolve, let's hope they evolve into something more intelligent than we are.

In my case, it is much easier to believe there is life on other planets. Scientists say it is almost certain that there are many planets with life. With the right atmospheric conditions, temperature and water life is very easy to produce. It has been done in a laboratory. But in terms of intelligent life, the problem is much more complex. It is extremely hard to predict the likelihood of producing an intelligent species.
Unfortunately I am still in the minority. People will tend to believe what people tell them rather than investigate things for themselves or study into the matter in an objective way. That's just the way people are. Maybe they feel most people are smarter than them, so they must be right.

I know God is.... and I believe there is a vast multitude of other life forms out there in this universe.... this earth was made by God for his purpose, as was the rest of the univers. Mankind was put here, among other reasons, to be God's stewards of the earth.... I do not know who or what he has placed "out there"... or His purpose for the rest of the universe and it's inhabitants.

Because of the insurmountable evidence for God and the huge amount of perfect conditions for life that the Earth operates under. It is virtually impossible to find the correct conditions for life as we know it anywhere else in the entire universe.

Personally, I find it impossible to 'believe' in god... but I think that life is as common as dirt throughout the universe, and that it is a natural and inevitable consequence of the self-organizing principles of matter, in accordance with simple physical, chemical and mathematical 'rules'.
Current consensus among astromomers is that there are tens... perhaps hundreds... of millions of 'earth-like' planets in our Milky Way galaxy, alone.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!
Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!
Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?
My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:
Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...
Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...
Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

Right. Ok. My God is the universe. seriously. You did not specify religious orientation. A creator is a creator and that is what and who they are and do. They create and don't stop. So keep going with this line of think and see where you end up. I don't believe in just bacteria either, that is so egotistical.

not easier as looking into the Heavens think one would need to have an extremely huge ego to think there was not some form of life on other planets and stars.
