There is some speculation that Jesus' first miracle, "turning water into wine", was merely an Aramaic expression for being the "life of the party".
Obviously magic or holy powers don't really exist. Wishful thinking of immature minds. It is reasonable to think that the so called miracles had some simple explanation that does not include any spiritual activity. Like any good fish story, they became more elaborate as time passed. But these so called miracles were necessary for the early church to validate the nature of Jesus, so they were encouraged to be written down regardless of their truth or whether a non-religious interpretation was available.
By the way, although most were illiterate, ignorant, and superstitious, they were town dwellers and not peasants. Peasants are people who work the land, often not owning it. The modern term equivalent is farmers. Peasant is typically only used to describe European unlanded farmers who lived under a feudal economic system. Doesn't really apply to the Middle East.

Healing the sick, and faith healers today use the same method? Of *course* they do! Who do you think taught them? Actually, they're just vessels of Gods' power.
Raising Lazarus-----the guy had been dead for FOUR days,.....he was stinking, and his skin was falling off! Yeah, that was an AWESOME miracle because it lead to Christs' own rising from the dead! People had to be *shown* beforehand that it was possible!!
Feeding the three, and then five thousand. Just goes to show ya' that with God, all things are possible!
There were no 'peasants' in those days. ALL folks were not superstitious, and they *were* intelligent, literate people with their own written languages.
Can YOU explain your own miracle of birth? Just ?why? were the exact sperm and egg chosen to make you?

"It is well documented in the bible" And there is the name of that tune. It is well-documented in the Mahabharata that Krishna revealed himself to Arjuna as God. It is well-documented in the Edda that Thor defeated the giant Hrungnir. It is well-documented in the Iliad that the Olympian gods fought mortals on the battlefield. Did you know that even today people (Sai Baba for instance) are claimed to have performed miracles such as this and people will swear blind that it is true? What you reckon... is it true? Or did someone lie? If you believe stories like that because you READ them in a BOOK... almost TWO THOUSAND YEARS after the supposed fact... you need your head examined. Yes, I believe Jesus was a real person... just like Buddha.... Krishna... Socrates... NO, I do not believe he worked miracles. I think those were lies, included to make the story more appealing. And why do I think so? Because that ALWAYS happens.

I remember hearing something like this but, it had to do with the parting of the Red Sea in the Old Testament. It was said that the Red Sea was never parted but, that it was an extremely low tide and the Jewish nation just walked across in only a couple of inches of water. Well, upon hearing this a devout person in the crowd yelled out "Glory to God! It is a greater miracle than what we thought! Pharaoh's entire army drowned in only a few inches of water!"

I recommend you read Edwin Abbott's "The Kernel and the Husk". He was a 19th century teacher and theologian who, despite his strong belief in Christianity, didn't so much follow with the miracles--in fact, he states at one point that a Jesus who just came and loved everyone was far more miraculous than one who ran around doing miracles. Very good, very smart stuff.

If you believe in science perhaps you would like to know that all the things that Jesus did and all the plages upon Egypt were scientifically proven. The only question that science cannot come up with is why? Hmmmmmmm

He did disappear for many years on a soul finding journey. I feel that he had some powers..like everyone would if they tapped into the other part of their brain..but I also feel that the learned a lot from the Chinese...their acupressure and healing herbs..I feel there are logical answers to some of it.

Do you think maybe that many of God's Physical Laws are far beyond Man's capabilities to grasp at this time?

Everything can be explained away now days. If a miracle happened in front of your eyes right now, you could probably explain it away, you just have to believe!
