Agnostic doesn't mean ignorant, it means that you are not afraid to admit that you don't know something that cannot be known.
Guess I'm ignorant for not knowing the root word. I was speaking in layman's terms. I was giving you a compliment, but maybe you were agnostic to it.

I opened Yahoo solutions and said suitable off that my profile image develop into huge, and that could no longer a foul challenge (so some distance...) as i'm getting to (ultimately) see the full suitable outfit that I picked for my avatar. yet to my sadness (a minimum of i believe...) i'm the in elementary words individual who can see my "p.c. up avatar"...LOL...i do not care...so long because the genuine stuff continues to be a similar. So what the !!!! did they replace...I nevertheless don't understand... I'm really not sure your an agnostic, because your using a literal definition, not the one that defines your religious point of view, i.e. "I am agnostic to an unproven God". Therefore the definition is 'unsure' and not 'ignorant'. So from now on, refer to yourself as a 'fool', the biblical meaning of not believing in a God.

first of all there is no such thing neither are YOU a athestic person, okay lets be honest right, of all the knowledge you DO NOT know, have no idea where to look, can God live there? Okay He can, now if you took a rocket that is the raw materials and put them into a container and shook it up would you get a rocket OR would you have to take the raw materials and design it? Okay there is A God and He is the designer, now the ten commandments [not suggestions] all the laws of any country that you would want to live in or visit has as the basis those ten commandments including this one the USA, so if the ten commandments are real so is the rest of it, hay free BIBLE lessons www.itiswritten.com God bless you and visit A Seventh Day Adventist Church in your area. And no I would NEVER call anyone ignorant, but very mis-informed however but now you have not that excuse.

The word refers to without knowledge pertinent to theism, not general ignorance. My parents are both agnostic, and are both very well educated and well informed as to current world events as well as past events. It is hard to not respect them for their great capacity to love others as well as both their stories of coming from nothing to becoming wealthy. They are the American dream, so how dare you insinuate that their beliefs label them ignorant.

why are you stating it as "atheist/agnostic" as if they mean the same thing. The two terms are as different from each other as they are from "christian."
Agnostic doesn't mean ignorant either...use a dictionary.

Agnostic: noun
One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
I don't see anything about ignorance.
* From the American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language:
"In coining the term agnostic, Huxley was considering as "Gnostics" a group of his fellow intellectuals"ists," as he called themwho had eagerly embraced various doctrines or theories that explained the world to their satisfaction. Because he was a "man without a rag of a label to cover himself with," Huxley coined the term agnostic for himself, its first published use being in 1870."

Knowledge of our condition (whatever it is) is the beginning of wisdom (concerning it, at least)
Good for you! Shows you are paying attention!
This is what I try to do every day.
Another thing I try to do is not worry about what other people are saying, especially when it doesn't make any sense.
Peace to all,
;-)

And yet your reasoning is more fully defined and your questions are harder than nearly anyone I've seen on this site.
