They don't call them churches. They call them meeting halls. One statement was that people used to vandalize their buildings so they stopped putting windows in. They seem to want the buildings to be of a certain code and standard.

Many Kingdom Halls do have windows. My mother attends the Sylva, North Carolina congregation and they have many windows and the congregation my brother attends in Fort Myers, Florida also has many windows. It depends on the area. Whether a place of worship has windows or not is immaterial The spiritual food provided is the most important thing, that and regularly meeting for encouragement with fellow believers. If a Kingdom Hall has no windows, it does not take away from the Kingdom message presented there.
Our brothers and sisters in Africa have windows in some of their Halls because they have no air conditioning, only fans. The Witnesses build all their own Kingdom Halls, some being completed in three days. Some of our African brothers and sisters made their own bricks from mud and straw, just as the Israelites did in Egypt. With the help from Jehovah's spirit, thay were able to do this.

The majority of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Halls actually *DO* have windows. Jehovah's Witnesses tend to build a Kingdom Hall without windows only in areas with a history of religious intolerance and vandalism against houses of worship.

Sadly, the questioner seems to be from such an area.

The insurance thing makes sense. Plus Prince probably stops in for impromptu concerts, and they don't want the locals to get in on the action. There's more foot traffic to have to clean up afterwords.
