thinking about his first miracle, turning water into wine. Surely he should have been doing something that would benefit humanity and set a good example, not getting the party started. especially for his first miracle (correct me if I'm wrong there)

When Mary said, “They have no more wine” (v. 3), it symbolized the fact that the Jews had no spiritual meaning left in their ceremonies. Jesus was bringing something new and something better."

You obviously have no clue what was significant about that miracle. Also why do you think you are entitled to his blessings?

You are, and you stand corrected, and he benefitted humanity, for dying for our sins, so that we should not die but have eternal life, sounds like he benefitted humanity pretty well for me.
