The Bible says even those who tell lies shall be cast into the lake of fire. Thus the same punishment is prescribed for all types of a sin. Can anyone conceive of a judicial system that prescribes death penalty for all crimes and misdemeanor? Death for even traffic offenders? How just would such a system be?

I do this so that I see what their arguments are and so I am sure that I believe what is true. The latest book I read was "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. I don't know any Christians who will risk reading books on evolution or book like "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris. Isn't it best to get both sides of an argument before you decide? Are there any of you Christians out there who read books like this? If so, what books have you read?

LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan (Reuters) - A suicide bomb killed 18 people outside the governor's office in the southern Afghan province of Helmand on Tuesday, provincial officials said.

The bomb went off as foreign troops were passing in the provincial capital, Lashkar Gah, an official said. NATO troops were in the area at the time but none was hurt, an alliance spokesman said.

"It was a suicide attack on a road in front of the governor's office," police official Mohammad Ayoub said in Lashkar Gah.

"There are six police and army deaths and the other 12 people are civilians," said provincial government spokesman Mahaiuddin.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

A suicide blast in a crowded market in the same town killed 17 people on August 28.

I believe that I should. I'm sorry that for some autistic reason I decided to ask you questions. Your brains cannot comprehend the extent of the question/s I've asked nor why it is asked. To those who do understand, I apologize that you had to read this for it wasn't meant for you. To the rest, say what you will. I'd like to know more about your feeble minds and how they work so I could better come with a solution to your dilemmas.

The Bible is an ossified relic, as a piece if propaganda it is dead and unchanging now.. this of course after centuries of careful development by a powerful cartel bent on global dominance....
Is this ossified Bible also capable of ossifying peoples brains so that they become hard and set like rock do you think?

...false prophet that the bible is talking about?

i mean 80% of america is christian, it is said in the bible that only a few will find the way... the false PROFIT will deceive many.

atheists are few, the fundies are many. that might be the right part of the bible.

Matthew 7:13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. Matthew 7:14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few. (Revised Standard Version)

lol. i know how to spell prophet

The discipline of a Tree is what man requries not the discipline of a concrete building. similarly Value is more inward oriented and biological than certain outer rules and regulations. Instilling the VALUE system means instilling the innerconnectivity with the Inner Divinity or God know what to do and what not to do? Any thoughts on these lines not just restricting to the thumb line ?

As a Christian, who grew up in a Pentecostal denomination, you will hopefully understand why I am questioning my faith. I do not question my belief in Jesus at all. However, I have truly seen too much. How can someone who professes to be “saved” stand at a pulpit with no fear of God? They can steal….or even be involved in immoral acts (and so much more). Some have told me that we are ALL not perfect, so do not worry. However, I have to wonder? My church has gone through NUMEROUS changes, pastors and leadership. ALL claimed to have a “VISION” for the community? You can guess the results. I have always felt that maybe true Christianity is more “orthodox”. I crave for a sense of order to things. Maybe the, Catholic, Coptic or the Orthodox Church? My readings about Church history tell me that something is terribly wrong with Protestants. We continue to “split” and “split” again, because someone claims to have a new interpretation or vision from God. However, Catholics, Coptic’s or Orthodox

Christian fundamentalists insist that everything in the Universe demonstrates "intelligent design" by an all-powerful being called "God". But there are many oddities that an intelligent human designer would not have incorporated. So how do the Christian fundamentalists get round these objections?
