Because they are not willing to abmit that they even HAVE pagan connections. Most christians have no idea how much of their methods of worship comes from the pre-christian worship that was in place long before the conversions and so ingrained in the culture that it could not be wiped out. (Easter, Yule, etc.) In order for them to get rid of those association they first have to admit that they exist, and if they did that, then they would ahve to admit that all things pagan weren't pure evil and satanic and that will NEVER happen, christians HATE PAGANS and want ALL PAGANS dead. Admitting thos connections would be admitting that they have something in common with their sworn enemies and, again, that will NEVER happen.

Religions in the past and even still today teach by fear. they claim they teach love but in truth they do not. agnostic ideas are still very much alive today. Just the phrase, the fear of god should ring alarm bells in people but it don't. Religion is the most effective method of brain washing there is. Religions were created by man to control man. Some day I sure hope people actually see what religion is. I know it will be long after I am gone.

Many of the practices, rituals and foundations of every "major" religion is based with a primal pagan connection.
What is purification to your religion? Is that judgment?
Why would you leave any soul behind?
IN the study of global theologies, Christianity is one of the newest. So what ever your "church" believes in, its my belief it needs to serve the "higher good" for all mankind. Why limit the people, heaven is believed to be big enough for all, right?!

Because some of the "pagan" devices have no origin and they are scared to stop doing what they've been doing for thousands of years(sometimes hundreds). Churches don't really like to take risks. I don't blame then either. I mean, who really wants to go to hell?

purifying worship???? your semantics are showing....
pagan connections are what most people need....
and unless your definition of "worship" is something egregious...
the "proper study of man is man" has been tried, and found wanting.....
agnostics already exist....
sorry, I'm not sure what your "purifying worship" entails...
POE...OPE....some combination of those letters????
rain water and grain alcohol???

every religion needs to modify it's dictates to adapt to changing times and survive, old books are "interpreted" to keep their contents relevant. old rules become obsolete. old beliefs become funny with time.
It's a sort of evolution, survival of the fittest, a religion that is not flexible disintegrates.
as things are today, all religions need a serious overhaul.

because that would be admitting that they tried to wipe us out.
by stealing our rituals, and covering our holidays with theirs.
