I've studied Judaism, Christianity, Catholicism (been to church many times), Hinduism, Buddhism, native American traditions, Caribbean traditions (i.e. voodoo) and native African traditions and have always been fascinated how there are similar themes in all of them. i never understood why people fight when their beliefs are so similar. I don't call anyone's beliefs false... i personally adhere to Islam.

Most of the people posting under this category take the word of a single source when making their judgement.

One does not have time to study in depth all aspects of everything, and consequently is forced to make decisions based upon knowledge at hand, which no matter how much he or she knows, is never all of it.

Maybe you should ask that question of the Lord of the Universe who visited us in human form one time for all mankind and died for our sinful nature and then rose from the dead. I think he studied only one religion, the Hebrew writings, but He had it more together than all the other religious leaders combined.

He healed the lame, the blind, the deaf and cast out devils. He walked on the water and multiplied one boy's lunch into a feast for thousands, He taught truth so astounding that people marvelled at his wisdom, and then he backed it up with actions.

His life was written down in the book hundreds and thousands of years before he came to this realm in verifiable "before the fact" prophetic writings; one of which is Isaiah 7:14 (written 700 B.C.)which basically states, "Behold the Lord Himself will give you a sign; a virgin will conceive and bear a son who will be called Immanuel (which means 'God with us" in Hebrew)" And that's just one of over 300 prophecies fulfilled By Jesus of Nazareth.

Once you understand who he is, Life is greatly simplified.

you dont need to read all about spider-man or batman to understand its a myth. The evolution has brought us to a certain stage to identify what is wrong and right with little help of evidence. Most of the science practice has proved the myth of the beliefs and the stupidity of religion. In this religious section. All the religions are myths which were form in the bronze age. There are No proper solution for the mankind , except Buddhism.

I AM OBJECTIVE.

There is no such thing as a false idea, just a false interpretation of facts. I am aware that beliefs may not be easily eroded by factual arguments or persuasion but when sufficient factual manifestations of the falsity of the idea are injected, they will eventually be converted.

Yes, I do bother, always. It is always the key to converting an opponent.

I know about Christians simply cause I have several ministers/pastors in my family. I was not raised to believe in god or to not believe in god. I was given the choice and chose not to. I don't call peoples religion false. I simply state I do not believe in it and that I do not need god in my life. When I am answering their questions. I also do my own research before commenting on anything about their religion.

Yes, that is why my mind is open and I like to learn about any beliefs and decide for myself.

I use all sources, I think they all come from god.

Always.

I was raised Christian, abandoned that at age 10, searched for something reasonable for another 15 years, then went to Japan to study Buddhism, came back, did research on all the worlds' major religions, and finally decided it was ALL a bunch of hooey.

I believe religious beliefs arise from hope and fear. Man, who is not master of his own destiny, sees himself in the hands of invisible powers, who his fantasy equip with human characters, and who he tries to appease through prayers and sacrifices.

So now, I only judge based on empirical evidence.
