when you die nothing happens...?

No, seriously. Really consider the 'know' part, it is seperate from what you think you know, but if you think really hard you will find that the only thing you KNOW is that you actually don't know. A thing that a lot of people don't..

;)

Cheers for Peace, love, and the absence of kool-aid

I have read about the history of Moses and all the miracles God had given him to power to make, but one thing I am still searching is how he died. Can anyone tell me and give me a reference if possible?

Christians keep saying I have to "choose" to accept Jesus. I'm all about making choices, and I have nothing against accepting Jesus; unfortunately I got beyond a 4th grade education.
So let's say I go ahead and choose to accept him. Will I then suddenly believe that the universe was created in 7 literal days by an all-powerful deity who is merciful, but sometimes wipes out whole cities just for fun?
Will choosing to accept Jesus overcome my ability to seperate fact from fantasy and logic from fertilizer? Or do I first need to believe that true equals false before I can accept Jesus?

Which do I have to do first, accept Jesus, or stop being intelligent?

for when people try to force religion on you by commonly used questions.

For example: what will you tell god when you get to the gates of heaven?

Well, do you hate us or not?

(ps: anyone who says yes or quotes the bible sucks and can't be bothered to do a little research on someone's beliefs before insulting them while looking like an idiot)

(pps: although if you can give me a decent reason like your mother was brutally murdered by the twisted moronic cults who call themselves wiccan just so they can gossip about the apocalypse over cake and wine [not real wiccans, just b@stards using our name to start a satanic subculture] when you were 6, then i might have some understanding, but the blasphemy argument won't fly here, so if you can't say anything else, don't say anything at all. i bid you good day and i beg you goodbye. now, anyone with a lick of intelegance can feel free to stay! please take a cookie! *hands cookie* ^ ^ don't forget the free coffee by the door and have a nice day!)

I work in a place where I see bad things all the time, I have observed a thing or two. It seems that whenever a miracle occurs the first person we seem to thank is GOD. Yet when a bad thing occurs, it seems that god could not make it in time to save that person. In the place where I work, I once made that very point with a drunk driver and was told that it was not god's will but that persons.

I think that if we can thank god for helping us, than we should also hold him accountable for our misfortunes. Afterall If free will gets us in soo many of our problems, than maybe free will helps us in our moment where something good happens. What do you all think.

My Dad has passed away and this is one of the jokes I found written in his notes, Let me know what you think! Thanks!
Mama's Bible

Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful
doctors and lawyers and prospered.

Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together.
They discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother who lived far away in another city.

The first said, "I had a big house built for Mama."

The second said, "I had a hundred thousand dollar theatre built in the house."

The third said, "I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her."

The fourth said, "You know how Mamma loved reading the Bible and you know she can't read anymore because she can't see very well. I met this preacher who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire bible. It took twenty preachers 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute $100,000 a year for twenty years to the church, but it was worth it. Mamma just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it."

The other brothers were impressed.
After the holidays Mom sent out her Thank You notes.
She wrote:

Milton , the house you built is so huge. I live in only one room, but
I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway."

"Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home, I have my groceries
delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks"

"Michael, you gave me an expensive theatre with Dolby sound, it could hold 50 people, but all of my friends are dead, I've lost my hearing and I'm nearly blind. I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same."

"Dearest Melvin, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your gift. The chicken was delicious. Thank you."

So why shouldn't we go to Hell? We would feel the pain of others like ourselves. To be in Heaven seems cowardly. Would you run away from a war if your fellow man was fighting?

I think one of the biggest ones is that every day a new denomination in Christianity pops up claiming to be the "true" religion and starts denouncing all others as false or going on the wrong path to righteousness. I mean, it's okay if you have your beliefs (or if you don't have beliefs in some cases), but why go to such extremes as to bash another's just to promote your belief or lack of belief? I don't think that's very Christian-like or even morally right. And this is coming from an atheist. :-) What say you, fellow christians and non-christians?

Do you ever want to respond to a nasty question, begin answering it, and then change your mind and exit out of your response because you know it would not be Christ-like to respond in such a way and because you know that people are scrutinizing your words and actions as a Christian.
