This is a funny thing about Christmas. Jesus' birthday was esitmated to be sometime in august or september. It was moved to Dec 25 to coincide with the pagan celebration of Yule. They wanted to convert the pagans, so they adapted their celebrations. Christmas presents, decorating trees, yule log, all of it was borrowed from pagan tradtions, as was the easter bunny, easter eggs, ect.

Jesus was not born on Christmas, 12/25 is the day that the pagans worshiped the sun so when the pagans emerged with religion we accepted that as Jesus birthday.

My oldest daughter (6) was born on Christmas Day.
Burned my ham that year 'cause my water broke & her Dad lost his marbles trying to get me out & to the hospital! Didn't help to tell him the contractions were still 15 minutes apart... MEN!
I work it fairly well, as far as presents. She & my other daughter still get the same amount, but half of her's are wrapped in Christmas paper & the other half in birthday paper.
May get a bit more tricky as she gets older though...

far be it for me to criticize your polemical attitude. in spite of the fact that, i'm hoping you will evaluate that in line with danger the sexual conduct of people, or the deity, held in severe esteem with the help of your opponent isn't a efficient tactic. properly, a minimum of no longer as an preliminary attitude. There are some very coherent arguments accessible against all way of superstitious ideologies, and maximum do no longer consult with how the deity supplementations his income.

Considering that Jesus never celebrated his birthdays, I highly doubt if it annoyed him. What irritates him is probably knowing that people celebrate his birth, on a day that isn't his birth, and which originated from Pagans. And what makes him sad about it is people who know this truth, but go ahead and do it anyways, just because it is a tradition or a fun thing to do. Sad, Sad, Sad.

He wasn't born then. They made it Dec. 25 to coincide with the Roman holiday of Saturnalia -- Now, that was a holiday!

Umm, haven't you heard? He wasn't born on Dec. 25, that's just the day we choose to celebrate His birth. Most think He was born sometime in the spring or early summer months.

Actually it was a better date than April 1st - - - but no one knows what day Jesus was born - - - in fact the only historical record are 'The Gospels.' The 'Pagans' mentioned in another answer actually celebrated on December 21st the day of The WInter Solstice. What truly annoyed Jesus was his girlfriend screaming "OH GOD"every time they had sex. Peace.
