I think one of the biggest ones is that every day a new denomination in Christianity pops up claiming to be the "true" religion and starts denouncing all others as false or going on the wrong path to righteousness. I mean, it's okay if you have your beliefs (or if you don't have beliefs in some cases), but why go to such extremes as to bash another's just to promote your belief or lack of belief? I don't think that's very Christian-like or even morally right. And this is coming from an atheist. :-) What say you, fellow christians and non-christians?

You have what I call "psuedoChristians". They want to be holy on Sundays and hateful and mean the rest of the week. Folks like that give Christianity a horrible name. They use the Bible to further their agenda of intolerance, bigotry, and violence. A true Christian doesn't shove God down your throat. The power of God and love shines through them automatically. When true Christians say that they "love you with the love of God", they mean it.

One is UNITY. Two is division like my friend said earlier god wanted no divisions or denominations. The first and only offical church Jesus made was the Catholic Church that he told Peter to make anything else mad came up with. Three to answer the askers question the reason we bash other peoples religions is basically because in the bible it says beware of false prophets and I hate to say it but gal 1: 6-9 it say let no one preach something different than what we have written if so let him be enternally condemned even if it was an angel in heaven who was to tell you something different then let him me condemned. and that is how Islam started through the angel gabriel telling him something different. We can live in peace but there will always be problems because Religion is a big thing. The true path to God is the most important thing in the world and if some one was to tell you your wrong or your holy book is wrong how would that make you feel. Muslims think our most holy bible is corrupted. That makes me angry but I feel the same way about them. Jews tell christians we are wrong because we worship Jesus even though in our book he is divine. So how you do come top a compromise with different religions when we all think we are right. What good could you really say? They are nice people but they are wrong and they might be going to hell. I'm catholic and for someone to tell me my holy book is corrupted, tainted or is inncorrect that angers me I don't know about the next person but that is why we bash. Because christians are told we are wrong and we are corrupt people.

I think the biggest problem is people that claim to be christian and are really hypocrites. To be a Christian is to live a Christ like life and to believe that he is the true savior. I see a lot of hate filled, rude people that claim to be Christians that try to force their beliefs on other people and instead drive them away. They make a bad representation of Christianity.

In the Eastern Orthodox faith, there is no unity between Americans, Russians, Syrians, Greeks, and others. America has not been effectively ministered to because each "ethnicity" focused on its ethnicity and not on America as a whole. More work is required to unify the Orthodox faith in the US rather than being held accountable to the ethnic hierarchs overseas - especially the Greeks with the Patriarch in Turkey.

Arrogance. Too many (not all, but too many) believe their religion is the only valid path, the One True Way ™.
And that often leads them into trying to impose their religious and moral beliefs on everyone else, often through enacted law.

The biggest problem with christianity today is christians.
They go to church and acknowledge God with their lips, then walk out the door and act like they don't see the hungry bag lady on the corner.

Fear. They act as if they are the ultimate victims in society.
They are so frightened that they may be wrong, they feign total certainty.
They are so frightened that they will become corrupted, they become convinced that they have to impose their rules on the rest of society.
They are so frightened of their own bodies, they impose strict sexual rules that run counter to normal human development.
And they are so frightened of other religions that they try to destroy them.

Denominations are the biggest problem. God said not to divide. Denominations write their own laws to suite their selves. There is only one doctrine, it's in the bible.
