I do belive in God - for the record - just not organized religion. I would just like to know why people feel they have to spread thier own beliefs on other people. Why not just worry about yourself? I am not trying to be rude - I really am curious.

some how i dont think my problem is big enough for god to help. he has better things to do. also from what manyf you say he has damned me (i dont beleave that) because i am learning magic. i think god had better things to worry about then my little problem so i am sure h wont help unless i start thinking of suacide. which i have now.

Please read this before spouting off.

I know that Heaven is in the Bible. The part I don't get is that people think that dead folks are there NOW. Is there any Biblical evidence for this? I thought the dead were supposed to stay dead until the Rapture, and THEN they would be judged, and THEN they would go to Heaven or Hell.

I keep hearing Christians tell their kids about deceased loved ones looking down from Heaven, but I think the BIble would advise us to say "So-and-so is mouldering in the ground, and will rot there until the Rapture comes, at which point he'll jump out and we'll be reunited."

Couldn't lying to kids about this cause idolotry? If I'm wrong, please let me know how the Bible (or the Church, in the Roman Catholic tradition) resolves one plan with the other.

And while I've got your attention. Just how offensive do you think the phrase "Catholickin' good!" is? I had this crazy girlfriend once, from Norway, and well... mostly I want to know about the Heaven thing

I watched a really interesting show about Christianity and hell. In the beginning of Christianity there wasn't very much mention of hell or the devil in the bible. Then during the Dark Ages priests started pusing the idea of being punished by going to hell to try to keep people in line. What do you think about this?

A few selected verses from the Qur’an are often misquoted to perpetuate the myth that Islam promotes violence, and exhorts its followers to kill those outside the pale of Islam.
1. Verse from Surah Taubah
The following verse from Surah Taubah is very often quoted by critics of Islam, to show that Islam promotes violence, bloodshed and brutality:
"Kill the mushriqeen (pagans, polytheists, kuffar) where ever you find them."

2. Context of verse is during battlefield
Critics of Islam actually quote this verse out of context. In order to understand the context, we need to read from verse 1 of this surah. It says that there was a peace treaty between the Muslims and the Mushriqs (pagans) of Makkah. This treaty was violated by the Mushriqs of Makkah. A period of four months was given to the Mushriqs of Makkah to make amends. Otherwise war would be declared against them.

you know what i noticed while answering questions here? that everytime someone is dissing up christianity , nobody cares..all the atheists come out,,, but when some one says something bad about islam, everybody and i MEAN EVERYBODY just freaks out and calls the person a racist and respect others..!!! hallo! look what they did to america and look no furthur, the future is on its way! im not say saying diss up islam or anything but are you scared to write your opinions or something?

90% of te christians i know are hypocrites they talk the talk but cant walk the walk! why is that??
why are they so self righteous bigots? they tell you they love you when they dont need to show this love but once they are put in the situation i see nothing but HATE and horrible attitude! they say love your neighbor and if their neighbor is african american or mexican they hate them and say the worst things on them behind their backs!!
i could be mistaken christians for WHITE AMERICAN CHRISTIANS (i'm white 2 btw)

I mean God already knew what was going to happen to Jesus, the whole prophecy thing, he was going to die and be betrayed. He had to choose someone who was going to carry out that mission.
It just happened to be Judas, doesn't that sound like a set up to you ?

Media maligns Islam
Islam is without doubt the best religion but the media is in the hands of the westerners who are afraid of Islam. The media is continuously broadcasting and printing information against Islam. They either provide misinformation about Islam, misquote Islam or project a point out of proportion, if any.
When any bomb blasts take place anywhere, the first people to be accused without proof are invariably the Muslims. This appears as headlines in the news. Later, when they find that non-Muslims were responsible, it appears as an insignificant news’ item.
If a 50 year old Muslim marries a 15 year old girl after taking her permission, it appears on the front page but when a 50 year old non-Muslim rapes a 6 year old girl, it may appear in the news in the inside pages as ‘Newsbriefs’. Everyday in America on an average 2,713 cases of rape take place but it doesn’t appear in the news, since it has become a way of life for the Americans.
