"out of body" experience is when you are in a sleeping state but your mind is still conscience to the envirnment around you. Some say they've been floating above their bodies and look down at themselves, or that they've been at a different place while their body remained where they've slept. As far as if I've experienced it, I'm not sure. I thought I did, but it wasn't enough for me to think so.

It is something that almost everybody does when they sleep. Most people don't know that they do this an most certainly don't remember doing it when they wake up(except for some faint remembrance of dreams that fade quickly).
Basically your soul leaves your body and floats around without purpose (but is tethered to the body by what is called the silver cord so that you can return to the same body you left.).
There are exercises that you can do to remember the experience and direct the soul to where you want it to go. a cheap vacation trip if you want to visit a certain spot.
Just don't get scared you will automatically return to your body when it has had enough sleep to repair its self.

An out of body experience is when the spirit is gone out of the body and the body is temporary dead while the spirit is traveling. Yes, I have had 3 encounters of such. My pastor told me in the past that if one tried to awaken you that you will be caught in between worlds. My pastor also stated it is a dangerous experience. The first expeience I had was I traveled to SanFrancisco bridge with all those beautiful lights and yes I was in the spirit and not in body form. It is amazing how one can travel in seconds to a destination when in the spirit. Could tell you more but I will stop here.

An out of body experience is when your spirit leaves your body.
We are all spirit beings, and we live temporarily in our bodies.
The body may be considered an "earth suit". You need one to operate in this world.
Sometimes people may experience themselves leaving their bodies. It usually happens in the brief moments between awake and sleep. It is not dangerous at all, despite what many people say. They just do not understand.
Being raised in the east, I learned many different methods of meditation. Some involve a state in which I can leave my body. It is completely safe. I am in contol. There are no demons and devils along the way, and none are trying to possess my body, as is thought by ignorant religious people. There is no danger of being caught between worlds if you are suddenly awaken. Those are misunderstandings by uninformed people.
When I am out of body, I am completely aware. It is not a foggy-dreamy state. Everything is sharp and focused. I am in complete control. I can travel instantly by thought. It is refreshing and enlightening. I can return to my body instantly with just a thought.
I have observed the earth from space. I have traveled the globe. On one occasion, I even transcended limits and went back in time. I observed early pioneers on the Texas plains. I returned to the present with a thought.

It when you spirit body consciously leaves your physical body.
There are three parts to a human. The body, the spirit and the soul. When you sleep and dream it is your spirit that does that does and goes whereever without you dictating its actions. Unlike with an out of body experience where you can consciously go places and do things (day or night) voluntarily while invisible to the human eye

Do you mean Out of Body or Astral Projection or Far Sight? Out of body is the term many people use for all 3. Yes I do all 3 and other things to that nature.
What is it like for me? It is something that if you never did it you can't understand in 500 words or less.
There are great books on how by Ophiel. He will lead you into it. Best book out there: The art and practice of astral projection by Ophiel

An out of body experience is the experience that you are floating (supposedly above yourself). This is typically in a drug-induced or shock-trauma induced state where your brain is flooded with neurotransmitters (like the fun ones - Dopamine and Seratonin and what not).
I'm sure it's much like getting high. So, if you want to experience it, smoke some pot.

I think you may mean out of body experience. I haven't had one. I guess (supposedly) the body is left behind and the mind does a little sightseeing on it's own. Some people who have had near death experience describe them.
