Should I not care about those suffering? Starving? Dying? Should I care more for a mink coat than a child living on the street? Is selfishness really a virtue? I don't think so. I am a Catholic but I believe all humans should care about each other just because we are humans if for no other reason. If this makes me a doormat then so be it. I am happy to be one.

I have experienced all sort of reactions when someone asks me if I believe and I tell them no. Sometimes the Christians are okay with it. Most of the time they think I am crazy. What do you think? Am I a nutcase to be an Atheist, and if possible please include an explanation why.

I think we are too self absorbed and out for number one. That we care too much about ourselves and our own comforts and not enough about each other. Too much self confidence and one becomes a bragging, conceited, snob whom no one can stand. Don't you agree?
Peace Be With You,

Read this from the Word of God - the Bible!

1 Corinthians chapter 1 verses 18 - 21

I know very well how foolish the message of the cross SOUNDS to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognise this message as the very power of God. As the Scriptures say,

"I will destroy human wisdom
and discard their most brilliant ideas."

(this is referring to Isaiah 29 v 14, in the Old Testament of the Bible).

So where does this leaven the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made them all look foolish and has shown their wisdom to be useless nonsense. Since God in His wisdom saw to it that the world would never find Him through human wisdom, He has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe.

Maybe the belief in god is a survival mental technique for the weak

Us Atheists dont need that. Our self confidence is all we need

if i read a book written by a god, i would expect to be filled with awe and wonder when reading every word, from beginning to end. even if it was written by man, with the god telling the man what words to write.

not only would i expect the book to do that for me, but i would expect the book to fill EVERY person who reads it with awe and wonder. everyone, not just a certain few who "believe".

the christian bible does not fill me with awe and wonder. it does not fill many, many, many others with awe and wonder. how can the christian bible be written by a god, or by man with the god telling them what to write?

5 years ago my soulmate jump over the fence to be on the other side along with my X- best friend. He could care less for his ordained marriage , his true wife, his true family and God. Marriage is what it is UNTIL DEATH. I know it to be true in my heart if my husband was truly born again , he would NOT be where he is stll today. God will being my husband back to me when he is truly born again. We know that it may NOT happen because of the free will. My husband does not want the responsibilities of being a husband to his true wife, a leader of his ORDAINED family, & a Father to our children. Now he is being two face and my christain counsellor told us that is how he can now live his life. Plus he is NOT truly repenting from his adultery retionship if he was truly repenting from it than he would return to his true one & only wife & his ordained family God gave him to have in the first place. God will deal with him one day. Meanwhile my children & I are going forward in our life .

It says in the bible that you will not have a husband/wife in heaven. I don't understand why even get married then because that person that you love so much will not be your partner in heaven. I can't imagine not having my husband ( actually he is not my husband yet, but will be soon) in heaven. I'm sad that I am going to lose such a great partnership.

I aksed another jesus/god question here
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060902045528AAoZMsO
and I got contadicting answers So Ill ask another question.

Is Jesus god?
Is he a god?
Is he the number one god?

Becuase Im pretty sure I have heard the phrase "son of god" and that god sent his son to die for sins of mankind used many many times. And yet ive heard statements making this phrase make no sense. Ones saying Jesus is god (look at my link). Which would also cunfuzzle the secular god/only one god allowed bussiness.

Please no bible links

Which is more important. To believer in yourself or God?

Guide lines

1. Dont say "God is in you so you believe in yourself" because that would mean that everyone else is the same person if God is in everyone

2. Dont say "I believe in myself because I have faith in God" because that's not an answer to the question. Would you believe in yourself or God?

CHRISTIANS, Dont dance around the question. Is it God or yourself? Choose one

After all, if a persons eternal life is at stake whats wrong with a little pain and suffering 'down here' if it could potentially save your soul from a firey eternal damnation?
Dont focus on the person asking the question.

I agree with E.O Wilson, we can work together to say this planet. This is a problem that affects both secular and religius people. God created this planet as a garden and put man in charge of to care for it. (Genesis 1:26)
I don't know what God is telling you, but He's telling me He didn't create this planet for man to take for granted.
